Bleeding After Surgery?

I'm having a TAH BSO on August 12. Will there be vaginal bleeding after this surgery?

P.S.: I'm terrified!!

I think people are different of course, but I have not had 1 drop of bleeding since my TAH/BSO.

I had no bleeding either...the best thing I ever did!! I was so scared to have a TVH...but the wait is the hardest!!! You will be just fine!!!

Some ladies do have spotting for a few weeks afterwards, so it's best to be prepared.

However, others, like myself, may only bleed for a few hours after surgery or not at all. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to who does and who does not.

By the way, it's normal to be scared. But just hang in there, you'll be on the "better" side soon.

I had my SAH on July 20th and had some bleeding that day, it continued to taper off, by the time I got home I had some watery reddish spotting.

I don't know why some of us bleed while others don't but I did - I always let my doctor know what was going on (to the point of being a pest) but she assured me that what I was going through was normal.

Please let me reassure you that I was the biggest fraidy cat on the day of my surgery - but you'll get through it.

I had about 36 hours of a very light pinkish discharge. Then again a few weeks later I had a bit...stitches dissolving. Other than that, I've been period/pad free for 11 months

I had bleeding my whole stay in the hospital, but it tapered off to just a little discolored discharge in about a week. It is kinda alarming when you see it; just make sure your doc knows the amount and if there is any sharp pains. I had spotting, however, for about four weeks before it completely stopped. No problems since then (three months out).

I had some very slight pinkish discharge, really nothing to get excited about.

I haven't thrown out my left over pads and panty liners yet even though I have gazed with delight at my new stain-free underwear (I need to get out more) .
