I'm FREAKING out!!!

Okay, I am probably getting myself worked up over nothing but today the surgery department left me a message to call them. They were supposed to be calling sometime this week with my surgery time, but I figured if I wasn't home they would just leave a message with the info. Now I am paranoid that my insurance didn't go through (even though I pre-qualified) or that they had to cancel for some other reason. She said she would be there at 7:00 in the morning tomorrow so you better bet I will be on that phone at 7 on the nose. I am so worked up.

I'm FREAKING out!!!

Hi there

Take deep breaths, think calm thoughts...

They may not have wanted to leave the details - or maybe their procedures don't allow them to, they may have to confirm you are aware of your time by speaking to you personally.

You'll find out at 7 am...

for you while you wait.

I'm FREAKING out!!!

Good evening.. I am SURE that it is probably just with your time... They are probably not allowed to leave it on a machine due to privacy laws. Try not to get too worried until you have reason too. Try to take a hot bath Or have a glass of wine..( or both, ha ) and get some sleep- let us know what happens tomorrow. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Tracey

I'm FREAKING out!!!

Hi, today was one of those days for me as well, I came home had a message from the hospital with just a request to call back they were in the office until 5:30 so I called as soon as I listened to it. She said hi you are scheduled for the 24th and you have labs to do and we have a pre-surgery class that the attending nurse will be giving to me going over the entire procedure explaining everything. So for that split second I got really paranoid when I just heard the message that it was going to be cancelled and blah, blah, blah, my mind went into overdrive that quickly. Turned out to be just confirming the date and to let me know about the pre-registration and class. I got worked up for nothing. Funny how our minds are working right now. Take it easy breathe and hopefully that is also the reason they are calling you. Good luck.
Keep us informed.

God Bless.

leaving messages

The nurses told me before surgery that no one could leave messages about my surgery or medical stuff on my machine, unless my answering machine had my whole name on it, and that I had signed something saying my hubbie could also have any information about it. Even with all that, they always just left their name and phone number-didn't even say it was the hospital.

The new HIPPA rules don't let them bandy about your personal information.

So relax, I am sure they want to talk to you personally about the dates and instructions.

I'm FREAKING out!!!

Thanks everybody. You are all so calming. I do feel a little better although I won't rest easy until I know for sure.

tlynns: I am going to take your advice and take a hot bubble bath and have a glass of wine to relax me a little bit. Hey, I may even throw in a piece of chocolate!

Thanks again. I honestly don't know what I would do without all my "sisters".
