sharp stabbing pain*graphic*
anybody else have a sharp stabbing pain in their vagina? I feel like someone inserted a hot poker. This isn't just uncomfortable, but down right painful, take your breath away painful. I have been released from my surgeon, so do I talk to my family dr about this? Also have a little discharge on the yellowish side of things. And am leaking urine when I stand after going to bathroom. I wipe VERY thoroughly and this isn't a drop or 2 but more like about a teaspoon of fluid. Any ideas or suggestions; or been there in the same boat with ya would be appreciated.

Hi Deb Are you on any HRT? What you're describing sounds like it could either be related to your surgery or to vaginal dryness due to low estrogen in the vaginal walls.
If you've been released by your surgeon, then yes, I'd see your family DR, or your gyn, whomever you feel more comfortable with. They can always refer you back to your surgeon if they determine it's surgery related.
But do call one of your DRs and get in to be seen. Let us know how it goes, OK?

-Linda

Deb,
I'm sorry things aren't going so great for you. I would suggest seeing a gyn, either the one who did your surgery (I'm assuming the surgeon was a gyn), or a Uro-Gyn, since you said you're leaking urine.
If you think this has anything to do w/your surgery, perhaps start w/the Dr. who performed the surgery. I would expect him to be responsible for any problems which arise, even if you have been released. Bladder problems can arise after a hys., and you said you had problems before.
I don't know if you need a referral from your family Dr., but if so, could you just call and tell him what's going on and get the referral that way?
Again, if you are leaking urine, I think a Uro-Gyn is the best bet. My surgery was done by a Uro-Gyn b/c I had repairs done. I figure if anyone's going to be messing around w/my bladder, I want it to be someone who does it all the time, not just once in a while.
The sharp pains could be healing or a signal of a problem. I would call your fam. Dr. if you need a referral, or your surgeon, so you can get some relief.
Stay strong - you've been through alot. My prayers are w/you.
