Is Anyone Out There FREEZING!!!!????

I don't know if this is strange or not... I had TAH/BSO on November 30. (I am 1 1/2 weeks post op.) Last night I needed a heating pad and another blanket for about 6 hours because I was FREEZING. Prior to that I have had a bit of sweating, but nothing major.

I was put on .625 Premarin on day #2 after surgery. Frankly, on an emotional level, I have felt much better post-op than I did pre-op. Initially, I thought the Premarin might have hope. (That horse pee business bothers me, though.)

Sisters, can you help me?

Thanks!

Yes I have been also. The only time I am comfortable is after a hot bath or under an electric blanket. Very uncomfortable feeling. I started new hormone therapy a week ago and immediately after taking my pill i get a little hot and then real cold. I think I might have too much estrogen. This is just my guess. I am thinking of trying my patch again except at a much lower dose. I don't really know what to do.

It sounds like it's hormonal as long as you don't have some kind of infection and are getting chills? You are pretty close to your surgery date - only 12 days out, so all sorts of things can be causing this. It sometimes takes weeks to get that horrid anaesthetic out of our systems too - nasty stuff! It will take you around 4 weeks to see how the HRT is suiting you and in that time your levels will change, going up and down. You still have some circulating levels of hormones in your system which are left over so it takes a bit more time to get a clear picture. In the meantime keep piling those blankets on I'm going back to my air conditioner
