Speaking of Chuzpah, What I Did

Tuesday when I was driving to the clinic for Gemzar, I got caught in awfully slow traffic. We have road construction so evreyone switches to side streets and one person wanting to turn left can back up traffic three blocks. Well, by the time I got to the clinic I was steamed.

That's when I decided what I was going to do. And it went out in Wednesday's mail.

We have a couple here who have given $205 million for an arts/cultural center. (Maybe I've said this.) It will be a great edifice. Well, if you have $205 million for arts and culture...you should have some money for cancer research and clinical trials.

Yep-I gathered some information, printed new stats on gynecologic cancers, and sent a letter asking them to make a donation to the Univ. of WI Comprehensive Cancer Center for gynecologic cancer research and trials.

I didn't mention an amount, but I did say it was the last $5 million that somehow got me thinking.

We have to keep on keeping on.

Goooo Ellen!!!

I know you have been thinking about this for quite awhile.
And you know what? We never know when someone may just hop on board with us.
Let us know if you hear anything.

good job

If you don't ask, you won't get. Nothing to lose by asking and from my years of fundraising, many want to give, they just need to know where to give...great job.

Just curiously Ellen, who did you send the letter to? I also live in the Madison area so I assume you're talking about the Overture center. I agree that money should be sent on gynecologic cancers so I might want to get in on your letter.
