Hard Time Getting Med In?
Hi, ladies
I am suppose to use Premarin cream and gosh darn everything is so swollen I had a hard time getting that applicator in.
I bet I am the first to have this problem.
I am a bit sore from putting it in last night. Didn't need that little extra today either.
I have the RX for Vagifem also but don't want to go the expense to get it filled. The applicator is smaller with it.
Any suggestions on what I might try would be helpful besides relax. It's a mess down there.

Hard Time Getting Med In?
Hey Poofy:
I too have to put that cream in 3 times a week. It is swollen - YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I've only had intercourse once but can't imagine how that happen since I've had problems putting the applicator in. First and foremost we need to relax. Perhaps while lying in bed,,,,,I've done mine standing in the bathroom. Probably not the best position. Also - gonna try some lubricant to help.
Hang in there honey.....this too shall pass.
Sending good vibes your way!
Cathy

hi
I am sorry to hear you are having hard time with the applicator. I would use ky gelly or some kind of lubication so you are not dry down their then insert the applicator.I hope that helps.Take care.

Hard Time Getting Med In?
Thank you Cat1T,
They make tampon applicators with a rounded ends you would think they could make this applicator a little easier for us girls with problems.
I am thinking not to try again with the Premarin and get the Vagifem filled. The applicator is the size of a pencil and it is much easier.
Maybe I will be more persistent with this thing. I had taken a cold bath before I did it. I would of thought that would of shrunk some things down there enough for me to do without hurting myself.
My doc is on vac this week and I need her.

Hard Time Getting Med In?
Hi ickes,
I thought I was relaxed.
I can't have a glass of wine first because I am on the Flagyl right now.
I would like to go the beach. Maybe that salt ocean water would be therapeutic.
Thanks for your concern and reply.

Hard Time Getting Med In?
I'm sorry Poffy my applicator IS the size of a pencil. Maybe u can use a smaller appilcator after u measure out the required dose of Premarin is that possible?
Are u allowed to have baths or go in the ocean? I'm not allowed to yet.
I'm sorry the expense is a worry - but we're worth it darling. Especially if it helps us heal better. This op and recovery has been alot more costly than I anticipated.
We do get better in time - great!!!!!

Hard Time Getting Med In?
i'm on vaginal Estrace cream so I can relate to things being swollen/sore/uncomfortable in the vaginal area.. I started using the Estrace cream 2 weeks after having the Monarc Hammock put in (vaginallY) to help speed healing....the easist positioin I found for inserting the cream is laying on the back, legs bent towards chest, and knees as far apart as possible....if you dont want to use a lubricant try taking a tiny bit of the cream and applying it to the vaginal opening first--this will act as a lubricant-then inserting the applicator....relaxing as much as possible (though i know this is hard when youre anticipating discomfort) is a real asset when having to insert anything vaginally after surgery.
