I agree with Kassie. I've never heard of a doctor putting "depression on hold". My anti-depressant took only a couple of weeks before I started noticing some improvement and like Kassie said, there are other NOW alternatives that could help you until your hyst. You should not have to suffer!!!!! I'd really stress to this DR how important this is to you both mentally and physically.

hmmm....it's ok, really

You know, really, I'm not feeling depressed or having crying jags or anything...it's more the fogginess and difficulty concentrating. And forgetting easily, unless I focus. I think it's a combination of out-of-whack hormones and stress about the up-coming surgery.

Working in the medical field myself, I have always been aware that anti-depressants take this kind of time period to become effective. I am ok with it...in fact, if I can avoid putting ANY chemicals into my body, especially my brain, I'm for it. (except chocolate!!!)

She and I have talked about this before, so she knows where I am coming from on the Rx. It's ok, really. Since I am not bleeding, maybe I can sneak in a little bike ride or walk in the woods to help with some stressful feelings. Haven't been able to do that in a while, that's for sure! After my d&c on July 27th, I've had a mild to nothing flow, so now's my chance before I become housebound for awhile! Enjoy while I can...

Lexapro only took about 4-5 days. I have battled the no chemical idea because DH did not get it. He thought you could control your mental health yourself until we got married and he lived with me for a year! LOL Now he is happy. Says he may not understand, he just wants me healthy and happy whatever it takes. Missy
