6 months post-op
Good morning ladies....I am 6 months post-op and thought I would send a shout out to other sisters who had their surgery around 3/1/04....How are you all doing....I had tah-bso, everything gone.....I'm taking small dose of estrace 0.5 pill form a day....I do not feel well and actually went to a psychiatrist, he put me on lexapro and ativan for anxiety.....I still have troubel sleeping, sex is just another chore, I'm very anxious and having sever mood swings....I recently had a check up with my gyny who did the surgery, and while she is great with the knife her bed-side manner is lacking.....She does not give out medication and she simply told me I was in menopause and to get over it.... Even when I asked if she could maybe up the estrace or give me somthing different, she said no no no....I went home feeling so alone and sad....Anyways the other medication has helped and I am sleeping so thats a start.....Thanks for listening....I would love to here how everyone else is doing....Cindybean.....

Hello Cindybean!
Hi there,
So sorry to hear things are rough for you now. I have to believe they will get better. I had my surgery on March 5. So, we are about the same at six months. I have had some of the problems you are having. My worst problem has been vaginal infections and I think they have finally cleared up within the last two weeks. I also have a lot of anxiety and worry a lot about everything. I understand the lack of bedside manner from the surgeon. I finally changed to a new group of drs. I now have a group of female docs. So far, so good. I don't sleep very well at night, but have chosen not to worry about it. I do take a half of Xanax when I can't sleep. Family doc prescribed it for a benign tremor that I have had for a long time. My hands will shake for no reason and it is a family trait. Something called "Benign Essential Tremor." I did ask to have the patch dosage increased due to vaginal dryness. The GYN did it reluctantly after begging him. That has helped a lot. I am using Vivelle Dot .075 now. Was on .05. I can't use vaginal cream as I seem to be allergic to the base of all creams. Hang in there. I am sure it takes over a year to get past a major surgery! Let me know how you are doing. Annie

Exactly the Same
I thought I was losing it! I should be feeling better by now, and I feel worse than after surgery. It seems like right at the 6 month mark, I just went to hell in a hand basket. Anxiety like crazy, migraines so bad I went to ER twice and have an MRI scheduled. All my lab work came back "fine" with diabetes indicator a little on the "high normal range" whatever that means! So, supposedly I'm ok. But I feel weird as all get out. The biggest indicator was that my libido was fabulous (maybe period relief) and then just went away. Completely gone! Then I started feeling just awful.

I am almost 6 months and ...well...yes, yes, yes!
I had to fire my surgeon-and I now have a lovely lady DR who is very helpful and LISTENS to me-WOW!
I posted something similar a while ago-being reminded it is a LONG RECOVERY, A YEAR + for some has helped me quite a bit-
I have a MIL thinks all should be fine and dandy the week after I came home..
(i ignore her!)
My DH had to keep telling me a DR is just like the contractor who does work on the house-We can fire em and get one we feel comfortable with-
Hope it helps to know you are not alone
Best to you!
