cervix removed,vaginal cuff,and sex

Lass here,How much do you suppose your vagina is shortened after cervix removal?I am so nervous about sex!!It was painful during and after, before op.doc has pushed back our whoo-pee date 6 additional weeks due to slow healing.I also am worried about my lack of desire.Im not sure if its hormone stuff or fear.my hubby is the most delectable individual,but when he gets playful I swat him away,I feel bad for him as I have promised him romping good fun as soon as doc says so.I feel cold and fearful at the prospect.and so sad.I miss that level of closeness.Any experiances would be helpful.Love Lass

Lass...don't feel alone, I'm nervous about trying it, too.
I got the ok to do so yesterday, but won't get to know anything for awhile yet, until my boyfriend arrives to see me in a week or so. I just keep wondering if it'll be the same, different, better, or worse..& on & on. I guess we'll just have to make the best of how it is. Maybe someone who has "been there" already can let us know.

I am just about 5 weeks post op. I got the green light last week. It was great. I too had pain with sex before surgery, I came to find out why. My cervix was infected. I had it removed and I am glad I did! I have had no pain and my DH said that he cant tell any deferance! We just took our time and it was fine. The key is to take your time. We started out with me on top controling the penatration. It was just fine. Hope this helps!

You stated you have/had an infection in your cervix. My doctor just called me to tell me she wants me to remove my cervix for sure on thursday beause my pap smear came out
abnormal.

Anyway,,,,,,I have had a foul, horrible, yucky smell for
a while, do/did you have any smell? I also have mucus discharge 24/7

silly question, but I am wondering if I have an infection also.

you have asked all the questions that are going through my own head. I am also scared of sex, I know it is still a way off I dont see the doc. until 12/28 and he will then maybe give the ok. I have no sexual feelings whatsoever, Ifeel like I have been snorfleed. My husband has gotten playful occasionally and I feel so slack that I have pushed him away. Sex was up until about 3 or 4 months ago great for both of us, but my sex drive has diminished considerably, dont feel at all like a sexual person. So it is interesting to read that other people feel the same way.

My app is also the 28th to look at my "cuff" its so strange to talk about its like a new body part growing.Its kind of more endearing sounding than cervix.I do hope it behaves itself and becomes a happy little so and so.Seamstress you should like it. Don't worry about this (although you are normal to worry). The vagina is very elastic and will accomodate your DH just fine. The key is to wait until you really feel ready to try, and that is a little different for everyone. My Dr. OK'd me at 4 weeks, but NO WAY was I ready yet. At 6 weeks, I was ready and it was fine.

I just read my surgery report and it even detailed the type of stitch my surgeon used to sew me up! It was quite funny to read that a running stitch was used and that she used a figure 8 stitch as well! She sure did a good job! I was healed inside when I went in at 4 weeks!
