If You Are Scared Read This Poem !

I had my surgery almost three weeks ago and I feel good enough to sit here and check out the pre-op to see if I can help. I see so many sisters scared right now and I want to share this poem with you.

I have to give credit to one of the hostesses-Toonces for this. She posted this poem for the August 10th princesses and it made me cry all my fears out instead of trying to keep everything under control. I found myself less afraid and I just wanted to share it with all of you.

Toonces, thank you so very much for your poem!

THE HYSTER DRAGON

Once upon a time,
(or maybe even twice)
There was a castle dragon
Who wasn’t very nice.
He scared the Ladies in Waiting,
He tried to scare them away
Until the Princesses came
And gave them hugs one day.
The dragon saw the caring,
The best wishes and the love
And how much those sisters showed
He’s nothing to be scared of.
He realized what he was doing was bad
Making those Princesses-To-Be all sad
He’s long gone by now
He left in a hurry
So now Ladies in Waiting
Need not worry.
All of you arriving for your hysters
Forget that dragon, just remember your sisters!
Whispering softly so you can barely hear it
“We’ll be holding your hand at the castle in spirit”

The fear is by far a bigger monster than the surgery. We are here to support you all because we care about you.

s to all my sisters

Hey, I'm willing to take on that dragon to help our sisters in waiting.

I think it's a good idea for us to come back to pre-op and help. We were in those same shoes, afraid and needing someone to tell us that it would be ok.

I'm doing fine and am able to do more then I could a few days ago. You will have meds for any pain and if you make sure you follow your princess training and your doctors instructions, you will be ok.

Yes you see posts where things aren't as hoped but, many more who are fine do not post and we tend to come back more often if we have problems. Don't let the problem posts add to your fear. You need to be informed but perhaps looking at the good posts will help you deal with the fear.

Hugs to all Ladies in Waiting.

If You Are Scared Read This Poem !

I cried so hard when I first read this poem. It was the day before surgery. I knew it would make people cry, which was not my goal. But it was a comfort. Its like the friends I have made here were reciting it to me and keeping me in there thoughts and prayers on the scariest day of my life.

LOVE THE IDEA OF THAT BEING ON A PILLOW OR SOMETHING!!! Even a coffee mug. Anything. Maybe the women that run this site can do something with that. I'd pay a fortune to have that on something and my dh is a Marine!

Good night eveyone and God bless,

s

Awwwww, Shucks......

I never meant to bring on tears

I only meant to say that having a hysterectomy is not a small thing. It's not a walk in the park. It's harder on some than it is for others in many various ways. It can seem like a big monster, very scary.

The good news is that we're all here and you don't have to face any of this alone.
