Sunday, August 29th...5th Sunday

Good morning everyone!!!

Today is our Sunday Luncheon at church...I have already made a HUGE salad and fruit platter so I can stay OP!!! We have a 5th Sunday dinner, singing and then no evening service. My 5y/o dd is planning to sing "I can only imagine" with her Amy Grant CD tomorrow. I am so proud that she is so eager to do this!!! She is so outgoing! VIDEO CAMERA IS PACKED!

I have not posted much this week---way too busy these days! I just thought I was going to be bored when the kids went to school! I have not had a spare moment!!! I do alot of vol. at school and am active on PTO. I also lead the Mom's In Touch group for our school. (www.momsintouch.org)

I still have not heard from the nurse job at the other school, but have a friend who teaches there and she said it would be after the Sept. board meeting when they decide on the position---she also said it probably won't pay much, so I may not be interested.

I heard about another PRN job opening at the new hosp. in our town. I think I may check into it this week. To work nights, Thur-Friday. (since I am such a night owl anyway!!!) And it pays GREAT! It would be working post-partum,NBN and L&D...the same depts. I worked when I stopped 6 yrs. ago. Familier territory might be nice! I'll let y'all know!

Went for my weigh in and measuring at CURVES this Friday! GOOD results for the month!!! Lost another 6.5 inches...mainly abdominal!!! Lost a total of 5 pounds this month. Built much more muscle---clothes are the tell-all! I have been doing the increased intensity and duration workouts for a month now, and I think my weigh-in, measure-in proved it was worth it!!! Also, it is so motivational to see the numbers going DOWN!!!! They are starting the CURVES challange Sept.7th. I think I may join it. THe diet is so similar to SBD that it will be easy! It cost $39 and I get two weeks worth of CURVES protein powder, T-shirt, book, 6weeks of classes, bumper sticker, one-on-one dietician consult each week. The cost is reduced from their usual $59! The shake powder would cost this much! I figure any new challange is good! Also, I've been on SBD since May 1st (lost 37#) and maybe to change it up some would be a good idea. I'll let y'all know what I think!

My oldest DD has a horrible cough, fever of 102-103, sore throat, and aches all over (from fever). We started her breathing treatments up on Friday. If she is not better tomorrow, I'm taking her to our Pulmonologist---she has had pneumonia several times and this is looking the same. She needs to get a Chest X-ray. Please remember her in your prayers!!! This is the same DD that has anxiety attacks. Our first counselor session Thursday went well. They visited 2hours!!! She actually talked to her---I was surprised!!! We go back this week---unless she is still sick.

Well, I hope everyone has a great SUNDAY! I have to get to bed soon, or I will be snoozing through church~and the preacher might have to call me out to wake me up!!!LOL!

's,
Ronda

Hi gang --

Just got back from my with Brandy -- it's already steamy and sweaty outside.

Had a good time at the zoo yesterday -- and stayed OP.......had breakfast at home before we left, and we stopped at the food court at the mall afterwards, where I had a spinach salad with strawberries and walnuts with raspberry vinagrette. Fixed a quickie bag of Lean Cuisine Garlic chicken for dinner -- just the right size for dh and I to share.

It was the most relaxing day I've had in weeks!

Will probably tackle more yard work today........the jungle the backyard turned into while I was away all summer definitely needs some trimming........then I think I will actually feel caught up!

Tomorrow I have an appt for a fitness evaluation at the new gym I'm joining.........should be interesting (it's part of the deal, when you sign up). I'm going to the old gym first in the morning to do and then head to the new gym..........only because I promised I'd meet one of my pals at the old gym there tomorrow.......or I'd just go to the new one.

Ronda -- sorry to hear you DD is sick.......hoping she gets better quick!

to all who come along after me --

Ann

Good mroning my BEST buddies! I have had a busy weekend and it continues today. My sister is having a huge picnic today. she lives about an hour plus from me so we will be leaving hoem around 11. I have been throwing caution to the wind these past 2 days and eating more calories to sort of jump start my metabolism. I need to get out of these 190's. Water has been going down mainly because of the high humidity. I will be running around with my nieces and nephews for my exercise today. They love whenAunt Emmy comes down becasue i think of fun things to do. My weigh-in for the challenge went well. I was 192 and lost 3/4 of an inch from 2 weeks ago. A 1/2 inch off my waist which is a biggie for me and that MOB dress I will Journal my travels through the month of Sept. and I plan on excersizing EVERY DAY ths month. Have a nice day all! I love you guys!

Good morning!

You're all so perky and ambitious today! I haven't done anything except shower, breakfast and catching up around here.

DD and I made some no-bake cookies yesterday. Most of them went with her to an overnight at a friend's house. DS and DH helped finish off the rest. Okay, I did have a couple of them. Good, but not pig-out food like I used to do.

Ronda, I hope your DD feels better soon. That's scary to have to deal with! You're super busy! Congrats on the weight/inches lost, too!

Ann, I hope you enjoy your new gym. You put a lot of thought into the change and I'm sure it will be fine. That spinach salad sounds really good!

Emily, you continue to do great! You'll look so great in that MOB dress! Congrats to you, too for the losses of inches and pounds!

If it's not blazing hot out I'll get a walk in soon. If it is, I'll wait until this evening. We sure have had a flip-floppy weather this summer!

I'll stop back later to see who else is up and about!

Hi all,

I've finally set my pedometer .......... I think! I'll wear it for a few days to get some idea of what my average number of steps are - and if its set right. Better late than never I guess!!

Mind you, my back's telling me I've over-done it with all the extra work done this week. I'll just have to be a little careful for a few days. It's so frustrating! I've enjoyed watching quite a bit of the olympics over the last few days, especially running and have realised just how much I took being able to run for granted. I'm not being morose (sp?) but it's just another of life's way to pass on a lesson and I know I have plenty of other blessings that I will now appreciate more. I WILL run again one day when this back is sorted out, maybe not for an olympic gold, but it sure will feel like that to me as I stiffly and sorely sit here today!!

Ds bedroom looks so much better now after yet another bash at it today and we're now working out what storage he needs. He is very pleased with it so far so that's good.

I haven't been very good with food over the last 24 hours though water is still no problem .... the dust in ds room was BAD!! We had mash peas and very burnt ribs (whoops - forgot to check them!!!) for dinner. I couldn't eat them so that's a bonus in a way and tea will be a cheese and salad sandwhich. Anything else will be fruit.

Tomorrow we are hopefully going car booting to see if we can get any good but cheap storage bits for ds and then will go into town for school shoes. He goes back a week tomorrow .......... and then I guess it's christmas? !! The shops here are already beginning to stock up....... madness I reckon!

Well done to all you ladies with your achievments ..... it's fantastic to see and serves to inspire me on.

Ronda , I'll put your dd in my prayers. It must be hard to see her suffering so I will ask prayers for you and your family too. I hope she's ok.

Ann , Glad you had a nice day out at the zoo!

Emily , Well done! At this rate you and Mob dress will be perfect!!

Donna , I've never heard of no bake cookies ...... they sound good!! ............ what are they made with?

Hi to all who join later ...

Hi I have had a kind of OP ish day.
Had fruit for breakfast, had a steak in ale pie. with chips and veg for dinner. Nothing as yet for tea, loads of water, mainly because I drank 3 glasses of wine, and then slept for 2 hours. Not really like me, but hey! Its Bank Holiday!
Probably won't have anything else today, bar coffee.

Good afternoon ladies! Hope you are all doing well. Let's just say things are quite busy in the world of Q!

Weigh-in was today, scale did not budge. Since that is two weeks in a row, probably time for me to crack down, especially with the holiday coming up ... which always means a little bit of being off plan.

Ann: Glad you're back and nearly settled in down in Florida. Read your latest food find ... sounds yummy! I don't think I've seen those in our market yet.

musk2u: let us know how you do with your steps!

Bridges: congratulations on the losses!

Time for me to go down and wash the car. have a BEST day ladies!

Tomorrow is the first day of school for the kiddos and I have to admit that I am nervous wreck! There are just sooo many changes going to happen this year. They aren't neccessarily bad things just "different". I keep telling myself that "it's going to be fine!" I just wish I could convince my nerves of that

I have a hard time eating when I am stressed. So I haven't had much today, but I have had plenty of water.

I seem to be more OP when school is in as I normally pack my lunch most days. I usually have a light breakfast (mostly because of lack of time) and an op lunch. Then after school I usually am too tired to make a huge dinner! Besides I am better at planning my meals when I am working than I am if I am home everyday.

So even if all these "changes" that I am fretting about drive me crazy at least I'll be more OP....so thats good right?

Ok, gotta go and make dinner.....DH and DS are whining they are hungry!

Take Care, Dawn

Hi everyone,

Back from camping! Had a great time . . . beautiful weather except for a little storm that blew threw shortly after we got there. We hadn't set up very much yet and moved anything of concern to the pavilion, so it didn't cause any harm. It was warm--never even put long sleeves on. Food was perfectly OP I am pleased to say. Exercise was paddling the canoe and fishing. I outfished DH . Found a treasure in the water--the river was incredibly clear and I spied a complete rod and reel that someone had got hung up and got away from them I guess. It was still hung up when we found it. Treasures are always fun!

Chicken is marinating for dinner. Boneless chicken breasts in a marinade of 1 cup of barbecue sauce and 1/2 cup Italian dressing (I actually used the balsamic vinaigrette dressing--I keep the extra packets from McDonald's just for this purpose). We are eating late because we ate lunch late.

Ah, back to work tomorrow . . . how can that be????

I have lots of laundry, etc. to do so I better sign off. Sending s, , and thoughts to all as needed.

Shirley
