Anyone Used the Abnostrain?

It's found in the Hyster Sister store and it's supposed to help you get up without assistance.

How does it work, anyway? Anyone out there purchased one and liked it? It's awfully expensive to purchase if it doesn't work.

Since I'm having a panniculectomy too, I know I'll have trouble sitting unassisted for a while.

Hi mjd2491,

I'm sorry that I can't answer your question, but I do want to your post back up with the hope that someone who has used the abnostrain will see it and reply.

Anyone Used the Abnostrain?

I ordered the abnostrain several months ago because my good friend was having a hysterectomy in June, and then I am scheduled for one in October. I thought it sounded good, especially since I am single and will have some help from my DB, but will have some time on my own as well.

My friend said it was absolutely wonderful! I tried it out before I gave it to her and you just basically wrap it around the end of your bed and then use it to pull yourself up and get back down. She said it was great, and I'm glad I will have it.

I saw a similar device in the medical supply store, but this one was so much more sturdy, even though it is a little expensive.

Interesting. I don't think it will help me because by the time I'm back in bed, I'll be able to sit up again. But thanks for the input.
