It's been a long and learning road!!

Hello Sister's....

It's been quite a while since I posted. Was sitting around and realizing all that has happened lately. Had TAH/BSO 2-9-04 for all the right reasons!! It is almost 8 months and I don't regret a thing. May not always feel great, but very happy!!! Changed HRT mainly because I work outside and the little patches just couldn't keep up!! Taking a little pill everyday which seems to be working.

Had been off the HRT for about 4 weeks before seeing my doc. Felt pretty good without, but can honestly say I now know what hot flashes are. Feeling better now!!

Can't tell all of you enough times how your help, support and understanding helped me through this. I wish there was a site for your "everyday" stuff. The support here is unmatched!!!!

Wish everyone good health, patience in life and always trust yourself!!!It's our lives and our bodies!!

Many hugs-
Stacey

TAH/BSO
Cuz I needed it!!

P.S. I am grateful for my husband! Not because he does things FOR me, but he supports ME for what I want to do for myself!!!

It's been a long and learning road!!

anew40,

I'm thinking of switching to the pill from the patch. But I need to know if the pill costs less or more, and if you get more than a four week supply. Also, did you have trouble adjusting to the pill, or was it no different from the patch?

Any advise or personal experience will help.

Thanks!

Marta

PIll vs. patch

Hey Marta,

First, Happy recovery!! I found the patch was great, except that I run a nursery (plants) and it got too hot and the patch didn't stay on.

The cost for the pills, for me, is lower. I was paying $25.00 a month for climara patch, but now pay about $7.00 a month for the pills.

There are lots of options. My doc also told me about a Estro-gel. Basically you just rub it on your arm (everyday) so it is absorbed like the patch, with out the patch. I don't know the cost on that.

Haven't really had a lot of symptoms. Started HRT in recovery, so never really went through menopause. I'm 41 and did have a TAH/BSO.

Hope your "journey" has gone well. You are part of an amazing group of strong women!!! Congratulations!!
