Red Hot Stabbing Pain Anyone?? 2 Wks Post Op
Hi
I've read about only one woman having a pain such as I'm having (for the past week and it's not getting better) but haven't really had any answers to the ?? yet. I went back to the doctor's today because of this hot stabbing pain on the right of my incision. He's a very GOOD surgeon but not good at sitting and really talking. He was happy with EVERYTHING he said. Incision healing fine, no discharges anywhere, no nightsweats, bladder and bowels adjusted fine, no fever etc etc. But dismissed the PAIN! He only said I'd just gone through abdominal surgery and to give it time. Mentioned maybe a nerve trying to heal...? Has ANYONE gone through this and how long does it take to feel better? I think this pain is worse then anything so far because it's so intense!
I was ready to ask him to give me a scapel and kitchen table and allow ME to show him how it felt! I wonder if all male doctors are dismissive like this. I'm sure they can't all be..

Red Hot Stabbing Pain Anyone?? 2 Wks Post Op
I think I know how you feel. At 2 weeks post op I had a burning pain to the right of my incision.I stayed on the pain meds when it was really bad and Motrin when it wasn't. The hardest thing for me was to stay put and rest.I wanted to be totally healed right now,LOL.
I agree that sometimes male dr's can be alittle dismissive. If they could go through what we women go through alot of stuff would change.
Hang in there one day at a time.It does get better.I'm 6 weeks post op and am amazed at how just alittle while ago I thought I'd never be feeling better.
Hugs,
Sharon

Red Hot Stabbing Pain Anyone?? 2 Wks Post Op
Debbie,
I have had and still do (almost 4 weeks post TAH BSO) have something similar but only if I move wrong. It's happens much less frequently now, really only later in the day and when I'm rolling over in bed! Do you have this pain all the time? If you do I would call the Dr. and make him listen to you!!
Good Luck!!

Hi Sharon and Rene
Thanks for your encouragement. It ALMOST (cross my fingers) seems that after seeing Doctor Dismissive today (good word Sharon) that this pain seems better tonight. I had to lay in the car for hours and kept myself medicated with Motrin so maybe it's turned a corner here. I will be so glad. I just wanted to know if this was a pain no one else dealt with and was it going to be with me forever! Thanks again.
Debbie
