Pressure and Pain on lower left side.

Just wondering if anyone with fibroids had this pain and soreness that was more predominant on their lower side. Besides feeling like I am bloated to the point of being 4 months pregnant and the bladder pressure I have this sharp pain off an on and it is sore to the touch all the time. I mentioned to my dr. but, he did not really say anything much about it. Does anyone else have this symptom?? TIA ( I just did not think to ask all these question on my visit cause I was kinda in shock about the hysterectomy) I though they were just going to cut the tumors out...... Just don't want anyone thinking I am an idiot....not asking Dr. LOL

pain

Fibroids could certainly cause pain as could cysts and any parts that are swollen and pressing on any other areas.

Never be afraid to ask as many questions as you need to...NO question is inappropriate.

Sorry you are miserable...

Pressure and Pain on lower left side.

I get occasional sharp pain and a pinching kind of feeling on my lower right side, which my doctor attributed to the position on my fibroids (I have one which is 11 inches long so it's taking up alot of space in there). I would definitely mention this to your doctor again if you are having concerns/trouble with it. I know it can be so hard to keep everything in mind that you want to ask, particularly if you are overwhelmed and in pain. Take care and I hope things resolve themselves positively for you soon.

Cheers,
Angela

Re: pain from the fibroid itself...

I have a dull to sharp pain where the fibroid is, on my upper right side. I have had it for YEARS....

Glad to know others have this, too...

That's exactly where I have my pain.....on the lower left side. Like you, the area is sore to the touch. Sometimes I'll get a short sharp pain, other times it'll be a dull ache that lasts for a minute or so. My lower right side is just fine. No pain or soreness at all. I'm having my hyster tomorrow and I can't wait to get rid of my big 'broids. Good luck to you.

I am probably too late to send my best wishes back! But here they are, you will know they were sent when you return!! My fear of the pain is what if it is an ovarie? My girlfriend had a hyst. and they did not know there was a problem with the ovarie until they got in there. :confuse:

I've had this too

A few years ago I was having pain in the exact same place. It went on for many months. My family doctor could find nothing wrong. He even did a CAT scan and found nothing, but I knew that the pain was real!

Finally, my doctor found a golf ball sized vaginal cyst on my left side. I had it surgically removed (outpatient) and things were much better afterwards.

Hope this helps!

Pressure and Pain on lower left side.

This pain may be your ovary. You should ask for a vaginal ultrasound. They can get a good view of your ovaries and see if they have any cysts that could be causing the pain.

I too was in shock at the appointment where my doc recommended hyst. It's natural! You should gather all your thoughts and questions together, write them down and go back to the doc for a "consult." When you ask for a consult, oten the doc will have you in her/his office rather than the examining room. You can take your list of questions and a pad of paper and pen and fire away! I have found the three docs I went to for opinions really will spend the time with you discussing these options if you tell them you want a consult, rather than (or in addition to) an exam.

And it feels much more like an even playing field when you have your clothes on!!

Pressure and Pain on lower left side.

To the sister with the 11-INCH fibroid -- oh....my....God. I don't know how else to express it!

I just feel the bloating and the inability to move -- can't bend over and tie my shoes, for instance -- without getting winded or gasping for air. I think my uterus is pushing everything else up by the lungs like it did when I was pregnant.

No real pain, though -- except with the special monthly time..... In that sense, I've been lucky.
