Hi and thanks to all the sisters who gave me good reasons to do as little as possible while healing. Sometimes we just need to get advice from those who have been / are going throught the same experiences. Is it normal to feel up and down? I felt great yesterday morning when I went on a trip to get my staples out but by the afternoon I had a bad head, felt sick and did nothing but sleep.

Hi Greg,

I'm glad to hear that you are benefitting from the experiences of others and that it is helping you to follow your post-op instructions and restrictions and be a good !

You are still very early in your recovery, so getting tired from your trip to the Dr's. office and having your staples removed is not unusual. As your recovery progresses, you should find that your strength and stamina also begin to return.

In the meantime, continue to get lots of rest, exercise in the form of frequent short s as tolerated, and follow a good diet with lots to .

Best wishes and s

Hi greg-
I'm 2 weeks post-op and I still feel up and down. I do get tired easily. I'm glad you're doing as you're supposed to. Make sure you keep doing it. I'll be thinking of you.

Blessings-

Hi Greg

It's a bit like one step forward, two back for a start. You're only just over a week out from surgery so you're still very early in your recovery. Each day will get better. It's quite natural to feel good and bad patches within each day too. Look after yourself and take things easy.

Hi Greg,

I am 3 weeks post-op and although my recovery has been great and I feel good, I sure do have my bad days, Sunday was one of those days I spent the whold day in bed feeling like i had been hit by a truck. I didn't even watch the Bucs (which is ok since they lost ). Just take those down times as a reminder that your body has gone through something very traumatic and it needs time to heal. I am learning to listen to my body, when I'm tired I rest, it's not always an easy thing to do but as many ladies here have said you only get on chance to heal.

hope this helps some!

I am 3 weeks post op, 8/24/04, TAH ovaries gone too. I do as much as I feel up too. I know I overdid it over the weekend and Mon and Tues because I came from running errands with my son yesterday and slept for 2 1/2 hours could have slept longer but had to go with DD to see her horse. I finally went to sleep at 1:00 am and just woke up at noon. I think my body is telling me something. Somedays I feel really great and other days I am exhausted. I think the hard part is my family thinks I am better because I do more and then don't understand when I am exhausted. It is just me, DS 19(home from culinary school in London,Le Cordon Bleu until 9/27) he has been a godsend! DS 17 and acts 17 lol, DD 13 and acting very spoiled and neglected.
I have been going out everyday for the past week, shopping, out to dinner, to the barn for 5 to 6 hours. I wonder if I am overdoing it since I was sooooo tired. Any feed back will help.

Didn't mean to take over someone elses question but once I started typing I felt like maybe I am not behaving as I should.

Fletchie:

If you think you are overdoing it, you probably are. You only get the one chance to heal, yadda yadda yadda. But it's true. I am two weeks out and feeling like a million bucks.

I have two sisters and my mother who can speak from experience in hyst recovery and they advise me that I should lay low for as long as I can stand it. They are all keeping my mind occupied, and visiting me.

Sounds like you can nap, that's good. When I lay down to nap, I am out for 3 hours. Then I can't sleep at night. You are lucky you can nap. Not everyone can.

Take care of yourself. No one else will.
