Pain in tail bone....

I am exactly 16 weeks post-op from TAH and bladder, vaginal, rectal repairs. In the past 3 plus weeks I have been experiencing pain in my tail bone. I visited an orthopedist today who suggests a complication from reconstruction. Has anyone ever heard of this? My surgeon is on maternity leave so I have scheduled an appointment with her associate next week.

Pain in tail bone....

It's so funny you should mention this. I'm 8 weeks post-op right now and returned to work last week on a part-time basis, with an expected full-time return starting next week. Since I've returned to work, I've been experiencing severe tail bone pain, which I attributed to my chair at work. I actually had difficulty standing up after sitting for a while yesterday, which seems odd, because I don't have any problems with my computer chair here at home, and sit for about the same length of time at the computer both at work and home.

I had an extremely large fibroid which had actually grown on the back of the uterus, through the intestines and was resting on the vertebra above my tail bone. Since my surgery, I've actually felt really good physically and the back pain which had become chronic seems to have disappeared. That was why I found this tail bone pain quite disheartening. Unlike you, I had no reconstructive surgery.

I'll be interested to read other responses to your comments to see if there's an answer for me as well.

Good luck.

Pain in tail bone....

I had pain for about 12 weeks, especially after sitting for long periods of time. It felt as though there wasn't any skin left on my rear! The pain does go away eventually - I was told it was because of my repairs.

Pain in tail bone....

i first experienced tail bone pain when I did jury duty at five and half weeks post op. Those jury room chairs were awful. The pain lasted for weeks. It eventually went away. From time to time when I sit in a bad chair I will get it. I had zero repair work as well. I am not sure why this happened. It felt like I had deeply bruised it.
if you get answers that will help me to wonder why too.
