Period question

I have had one oophorectomy and a myomectomy on the other ovary. Will I continue to get a period?

Period question

Hi Bernall,

It sounds like you had a myomectomy with one ovary removed. So... you have your uterus still and one ovary.

So, I would say...yes...you will still have a period. If I remember back to my sex education class in school, they said that the ovaries can alternate with the release of eggs.

If your remainng ovary does not ovulate each month, you may not have a period every month. Maybe it compensates?? Just my opinion so please check with your Dr.

My sister had wonderful results with her myomectomy. She had not had kids when she had the surgery and she now has a 8 and a 10 yr. old. Her fibroid was the size of a grapefruit.

Hope a wonderful hostess posts a link for you.

Best wishes,

Mary

Period question

Bernall,

This is my 2nd post. I noticed you posted on another Hysterectomy Options forum that you have 1/2 of an ovary.

So...my previous reply may be incorrect. Please check with your Dr. and I am sure he/she will be able to give you an answer.

Good luck,

Mary
