anyone heard of this

I went for my yearly pap smear today it has been almost a year now since my TAH and doctor found that I have a lesion on my vaginal cuff that still has stitches hanging in there. I had been having a clear discharge that my PCM and I thought was a leaky bladder. I never heard of stiched hanging in there for a year or longer. If anyone has heard of this give me some advice please.

I had my abdominal hysterectomy the end of May 2004, cervix removed, also. Went in for my 6 week check and doctor said my incision cuff didn't heal correctly, which she said was very common, and had to freeze (or burn?) off the extra skin. She said if she didn't perform the procedure, I would have discharges until I got it taken care of. I don't know if this was the same thing you had, but I hope this makes you feel better.

I can't answer to the vaginal cuff part, but I do have a friend that had a heria repair about 10 years ago. He go what he thought was a pimple or ingrown hair near the surgical site about 2 years ago. Turns out it was a little piece of undissolved stitch that was making it's way out. Once that little piece of stitch was out, it was all better in no time.

Things that make you go HMMM.
