10 day check-up

It has been 10 whole days since my surgery, hard to believe. I feel great! Went to dr. today, he told me that he removed football size cyst, (which I got to see after surgery) fibroids, and dermoid cysts on ovaries. OMG have you girls heard of these? They are nasty! Have not taken anything but an occasional motrin since day 3. Anyway, dr. was amazed at how well I looked, and how well I was doing. I told him that I was walking 1 mile every day, he was shocked. He has given me the ok to go back to work on Monday. I am going to try it for 12 hours first week, I do miss it, and I think that I will be ok. I do have a backup if I can't handle it. I know that everyone is different and heals at a different rate. I am thankful that I am one of the lucky ones. I wish you all well during your recoveries as well.

10 day check-up

Hi Sherem57,

I'm glad for you that your recovery is going so well!

However, I'm always concerned when I see that a new is going back to work so early. Even though your Dr. has given you the OK, please do be very careful and don't push yourself too hard. Use your backup plan without hesitation.

You have had major surgery and you are so worth the time that recovery takes!

Best wishes and s

10 day check-up

Hi Sherem57,

You are truly amazing. I know we all heal at different rates. I am happy for you that you are doing so well. I had surgery the same day as you and am still working on walking around the house.
That is ok. Hope you do well. If you find you need more rest-please take it! You worry me a bit.

Blessings, Rita

10 day check-up

I went back to work after two weeks from my operation TVH/BSO on 8/30. I worked 20 hrs last week and 20 this week, doing OK with the part time. I might go back full time next week. I will try to see, if not my boss said I could leave early. Hope you do OK going back to work also. Good Luck! And remember if you get tired or have any pain, slow down. Do not hurt yourself. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

10 day check-up

Thank you all for your concerns. The walking thing I am really enjoying. I have not had alot of time the last 3 years for myself. Being out walking in the sunshine I believe is truly making my recovery quicker. This surgery has been a blessing in disguise in many ways. 3 years ago my son was in a serious car accident in which he broke his neck, along with many other more minor injuries. The last 3 years at least once of week I have been running him to therapy/appt./treatments/surgeries etc. along with working 2 jobs. On top of that I lost my big brother to cancer, and dealt with the passing of my grandmother and my mother in law. I have been so busy dealing with these things that I have taken little time for myself. The last 2 weeks since surgery have been such a relief from my normal routine. So....yes, I look forward to my walks and while walking am appreciating what I have. I am more relaxed, and pain free for the first time in years. I know that my quick recovery is my reward. Continued well wishes to all of you
