cramps, cramps,and more cramps

Hi All,
I have wrote before on this site and I have learned a lot from all you ladies and I thank you. I am going in to see my obgyn this Oct 4th with my husband to disscuss my hysterectomy. Dr. wants to do adominal due to the fact I have a large fibroid the size of a football off the back part of my uterius. Dr. told me with the uterius and the fibroid it will take that type of surgery to get it removed. She is very concerned about taking out the fibroid all in one piece, wants to check for cancer. Dr wants to do a CA125 and an ultra sound on Oct 4, My fibroid is growing, started at 8.5cm Aug 2, My question is after intercourse with hubby, I am down with cramps so bad. Hubby is very gentle and is starting to get a little scared about all this. If fibroid are to be painless then why all the cramps happen? Dr. gave me ibprofen 600mg for the pain. Does anyone else have the cramping? I am also trouble with bloat, constipation, swelly belly big time, I gave up trying to hold it in anymore, I am also very tired. If anyone would like to share I would be grateful. God bless to you all, and you are all in my prayers

cramps, cramps,and more cramps

Hi Drangel,

I had 6.5 and 8.5 fibroids so I understand the "side effects" you mentioned.

I had stomach bloat, constipation and tiredness also. And I had bladder incontinence and a 24/7 pelvic pressure. It was like I was pregnant and I wasn't going to give birth to the fibroids!!!

I also had discomfort with sex. Usually a dull pelvic ache the next day. I loved having sex with my DH in pre-op and then it was a Catch 22 almost. If I did have sex...I would enjoy it...and then I would be hurting later. It started to take away from my fun factor.

Good luck with your Dr's appointment. Sounds like you are collecting hyst information that will give you lots of questions for your Dr. Then, you can make a good decision for yourself.

My DH went with me to all my appointments. Really gave me moral support and a hand-to-hold when I needed it.

Best wishes,

Mary
