A.R.D. - how common?

Hi - I was home from surgery only a week when our paper published an article about adhesions and the problems they cause. They called it ARD. I had surgery 10 years ago for endometriosis when we tried to get pregnant. Now with the TAH/BSO I was on the table for 4 hours while my Dr had to deal with a ton more adhesions. Am I loking at a life-time of this? Thanks for any insight you all might have - Jannah

Resources

I am so sorry you are going through this. Everything I have read says that adhesions happen to up to 95% of women that have abdominal surgery. Some do not cause any symptoms and some do.

Here is a link that will get you to the Hystersister Resources page, then type in adhesions on the Search and hit go.

You will find many many links to information about them. One that looked especially good was with the Harvard Medical Center.
