nearing 3 week post-op & wondering if what i am feeling is normal

My TAH was 9/14/04. I was put on a 4 week leave of absence from work & am to return on 10/12/04. Some days I feel like I'm getting better, feeling more energetic & then I take a step backward. Haven't taken any Percocett for pain recently & am on vitamin w/iron. Don't really have any discomfort in the incision area but can't sleep at night...I toss & turn every night since coming home,it is uncomfortable to urinate....feels like the inside is completely raw or something & still have swelling in my groin area which goes up & down depending on the day. I feel comfortable doing easy chores around the house...tidying up & some laundry (but making someone else carry it),etc. but still get tired easily. I manage to sleep a couple hours at most during the early afternoon & stay up late but still don't sleep. Is anyone else feeling this? I'm a school bus driver & am wondering if I'm going to be up to returning to work just yet.

I'm 3 weeks and feel the same, my dr hasn't cleared me to drive yet probably another week and I'm due back to work 10/25 but have to see Dr that day so maybe not.
There's been some really helpful posts the last couple of days regarding tiredness and what's too much and I feel comforted that I'm not the only one feeling like this
I truly believe it's going to get better!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, my surgery was on 9/7, so I am almost 4 weeks post-op and I am still having problems sleeping. I go to bed much earlier than before my surgery and get up about the same time. My sleep is interrupted because I need to change my position in bed or I have some terrible dreams. I try and rest in the afternoon for an hour or less. I really don't fall asleep in the afternoon, I just lay down and rest. I'm an office worker, but am on my feet alot and the earliest return to work for me is going to be 10/20. I have a 4 week post-op appt tomorrow and will probably find out when I can return to work. I like being home. Not looking forward to the daily grind yet. Need more rest. Take care of yourself and listen to your body. A call to the dr. can always relieve some of your concerns.
