Anyone taking vitamins?
I am just curious if anyone has taken the new One A Day weight smart and how it is working for them?
I have been on so much medicine over the last 10 months due to back trouble and then the hyster. I know my body is lacking certain vitamins, it has to after all these months of pills.
I am hoping that once I have my back surgery(get date today) that I will be better than my old self has been for a long time ( Hope that made sense) Looking forward to the day I have no more pain and pills. wise.
If anyone has taken this vitamin/dietary supplement please let me know how it has worked for them. Energy level and weight wise.
Thanks in advance

Anyone taking vitamins?
Hi I haven't taken One A Day Weight Smart, but I do take a ton of vitamins and supplements I checked their ingredient list, and I'd suggest you ask your DR before taking it. The product contains 18mg of iron (100% of the RDA for an adult *premenopausal* woman)... which may or may not be advisable for you.
My DR told me right after my surgery that I must switch to vitamins without iron, such as those labeled "for women over 50"... so I did. The reason is because after a hysterectomy, we no longer have a monthly period to help us get rid of any excess iron, and iron is one of those substances that can build up to toxic levels in the liver.
I have yet to find one single vitamin that contains the right amount of everything I need. I end up taking many of my supplements individually. It's not fun, but that way I can control how much of each I'm getting.
Hope this helps!

-Linda

Anyone taking vitamins?
Hi,
I tried the One A Day Weight Smart about a year ago, but they made me sick to my stomach. I took them for about a week, and would get very nauseated every time I took them.
It's important to keep in mind that these vitamins don't help you lose weight. What they do is supply the nutrients your body needs while you lose weight.
I currently am taking Centrum Gold, which has most of the vitamins and minerals needed. I've taken vitamins every day for almost 3 years now - a record for me!

Lisa

Anyone taking vitamins?
I did try the One a Day Weight Smart but found that they make me far too jumpy, I am hyper to start with. I am taking One A Day women's at the request of my DR. as well as a calcium suppliment. My Dr. recommended the One A Days on my very first visit and told me to continue to take them.

Anyone taking vitamins?
I'm still slightly anemic and the doctor told me to keep taking the prenatals that I've been taking for years now and to start taking calcium. He said that was important. But I have to get my iron checked again next month and that may change. I'd ask the doctor before changing anything. Iron makes ya kinda stuffy if it is not needed or too much.

vitamins and nutrition
Hi
I am in a holding pattern...trying to stay healthy...
I haven't had a hyster as yet.
Been doing a lot of reading.
Vitamins are wonderful. I take ****ake and vitamin C.
What I have found most helpful is eating and drinking healthy. I have gone just about totally vegetarian. The health food stores are a wealth of information.
green leafy veggies are tasty and supply lots of iron and fiber too.

vitamins
Any information regarding good vitamins to take? I am always looking for new information. My one vitamin I mentioned was zotzed out.
I take a mushroom supplement. It ends in take.
Iron can be hard on the stomach. For some reason, I haven't taken any. I know I should.
Yasmina.

If you have had a hysterectomy, please do not take iron unless directed to by your DR. Without monthly periods to rid us of excess iron, it's easy to build it up to toxic levels
Sorry about the bleeping... the site has an automatic censor which removes or alters certain combinations of letters which are generally considered offensive to many of our members. However, it's a 'dumb' censor , so it doesn't understand when the same combinations of letters are being used in perfectly OK ways. I think the supplement you mentioned was made with Shiitake mushrooms, right? I take that as well sometimes.

bleeps
Yes, I figured the 'bleep' thing out with the mushroom.
Another amazing source of nutrients is unprocessed seaweed.
It is said that the rate of cancer is lower in Japan. The people there eat a lot of fish and seaweed.
So, I went and got some unprocessed seaweed at the health food store. There is also sprinkle on kelp...which I think is pretty good too.

Vitamins: One A Day and iron+C
Hi there! My first time replying to anyone here. Had a TAH on 10/12/04. My Dr. had me on prescription iron supplements months before surgery to build up my blood. I lost a lot of blood during surgery. I was not anemic before, but I guess I am now. My instructions were to resume the iron supplements after my normal bowel movements started and drink lots of fluids. So, with my iron I take vitamin C. I also take One A Day Weight Smart at a different time of the day as the iron, so that the calcium it contains does not interfere with the absorption of the iron. They don't seem to make me feel any different. I don't expect the Weight Smart to help me lose weight, especially if I am not working out. It probably doesn't matter much which multi-vitamin I take. I also take a stool softener because iron can cause constipation. I am 4 weeks now and have been off the prescrip. pain meds for a while. I take Tylenol PM or 2-3 Advils if I don't need the sleep ingredient of the Tylenol. Have my first big Dr. appt this Friday. Have no idea what to expect.
Decisions, decisions...I guess vitamins are all up to the individual. Have a good recovery ladies!
