I am trying to have patience but.........

It has been almost 6 months since by surgery - 4/14/04 and my stomach is still not at all where I would like it to be - and that is GONE.
I look like a pear (UPSIDE DOWN PEAR) and I can't stand it
When I sit down - I have a roll of fat - I guess it is fat - that is just disgusting - wish I had had the tummy tuck with the TAH/BSO

I tried without HRT for three months but could not stand it so I started on V Dot about 1 month ago - no hot flahes, mood swings, etc... just this gross roll about my incision and it seems to go all the way around -

Is there any hope for this to disappear - I watch the calories, exercise etc... - you know - everything we are suppose to do and still no results -

any suggestions/misery loves company!!!!!!!

From what I understand about swelly belly there isn't anything you can do to "make it go away". I have heard that it can take up to a year for your stomach to go down.

I know I'm still waiting for mine to go away!

I know exactly what you mean....i look at myself naked in the mirror(rarely do this ) and see that awful roll and get depressed....i am only a few weeks post op but am waiting patiently too....you would think with an enlarged, tipped uterus and grapefruit sized fibroid it would be a drastic change but nope....its still there! i heard that pilates and yoga exercises help shape the lower tummy again so i am going to try that and see what happens.....its a nonpainful exercise to relax you and hopefully reshape you too!!!!take care!

I am trying to have patience but.........

Hi all, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but at 13 months post-op I am STILL battling with the dreaded swelly belly.

It gets worse after gym and yoga!!! I know some of the ladies do not battle, but those of us who do........ well patience is the name of the game.

In fact I now try to do a little as possible when it comes to Ab exercises and the like and strangely that seems to improve the situation.

Depressing, I know, I'm sorry!!! We are just have to bite the bullet.
