Tjankfull it's over

Hi all,
I just wanted to post a thank you to all sisters who have taken the time to post/reply/pray and generally be there. I had my surgery 6 Oct 04 at 1230pm. I returned home 9Oct04 1pm. My doctor did the whole procedure laparascopically. I've had some pain, but not nearly what I was expecting. My doctor only removed the uterus and a tumor that was bigger than a baseball. When I saw the photos, I thought the tumor was my uterus.
My only regret is that when I came home full of meds, I felt pretty good. I snuck in a load of laundry and am paying for it now. Please remember that even if you feel good. Stay down!!! They mean it!

Thanks again for all of the love, prayers and support.

Patti

Patti I'm so glad you have made it home. I just hope that you do mind the doctor and don't overdo it. s

Patti! Very wise words, my sister! I know exactly what you mean! I am 2 weeks today and have been one of the faster recoverees here on the site - meaning I have not had any of the complications some of my other sisters have had - I feel terrific - I took no pain meds since I got back from the castle --- even my swelly belly has gone down! I was up and walking and still taking it easy for the past 2 weeks but totally bored!!!! and sure enough - today I had been cleared to drive by my Dr. and it was such a gorgeous day here in Austin! and I had this boundless energy - I just wanted to go out to my favoirite garden store, soak up the sun and be around all the beautiful fall color, etc... and then go to the mall (both really close to home) to treat myself for being a princess and blah blah blah! 1 hour later --- Yeah - no pains from driving but boy was I tired! I came home with such a raging headache --- I took Ibuprofen and slept for about 3 hours! Strange isn't it - how our body tricks us like that! Please try not to over do it as I will try to do the same! I will limit my driving to maybe 2 days a week but frankly I prefer my walks till I get much stronger. Ladies - just take it easy...

Happy recovery all!
