When can I get rid of these pads?!

I have been having to wear a pad since my LAVH on 12/7. I am so tired of this! I had my period just in time for it stop (12/6) for me to have my surgery, and now I have been wearing a pad for 16 days!! I am so sick of this. That makes this 23 days of straight bleeding. YUCK!! Luckily I only have to wear two pads a day, but it is getting very old!! Does anyone know when this light bleeding will stop?

When can I get rid of these pads?!

Hi Amy...my light bleeding stopped 4 wks post...waited one more week just to make sure..then I gave all supplies to my girlfriend. I had the light days pads, the absorbant, the super absorbant extra long with wings [for heavy sleeping as well as heavy bleeding], the light day tampons, the absorbant and super absorbant....it was like the feminine hygene section of the drugstore. And as soon as this swelly belly goes so do these old lady underpants I bought to hold all these pads..and all the underwear stuffed in my drawer that I only wore on /those/ days...so I wouldn`t ruin ALL the underwear....
hang in there...it should be any day now!!!
hugs....katie

When can I get rid of these pads?!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, I bled for 8 weeks post op. I had a TAH if that makes a difference or not. I was so glad to be rid of those pads. I have never had to wear one again I am now 4 months post op.
Hang in there it does get better and I would never go back.

I am so sorry you are still bleeding. Is this normal? I haven't bleed since they did the surgery. I have had a drainage, like a discharge, very light and have had to wear a pantyliner. Went to post op at 5 weeks and asked how long this would continue and she said until my stitches are completely disolved.

When can I get rid of these pads?!

I had the same thing - a LAVH and bladder and posterior repair on 12-5. I am still having a discharge and sometimes very light bleeding - doc says is normal. I am very anxious to get rid of the feminine "products" too. I still have a "kit" from the hospital with BIG pads and little mesh disposable panties that I am going to send to my sister when all this over wishing her 15 more years of "product" bliss - she is quite a bit younger than I am and I think she will get a kick out of it. Don't worry all this will pass and we will feel better than ever! Merry Christmas!

When can I get rid of these pads?!

Well, now I am concerned. Is it normal NOT to bleed at all? I had a TAH almost 4 weeks ago, and not had a spot of blood since. Just wondering!

Merry Christmas to all...

Peace and Love,

Ami

I'm with Ami. I just had 3 days of some ungly brown spotting and that was it. I haven't seen a thing since. My doc said that was JUST GREAT!!!

When can I get rid of these pads?!

I quit wearing pads on day one after surgery. I had bleeding for about 3 weeks, but it never hit my panties, just spotting when I wiped. Pretty easy to handle. We are all different, and all respond to this surgery differently. I don't feel a little bleeding should concern you, but talk to your doctor if you are worried.

I loved doing the "last tampon" ritual dance!
