Granular tissue 3mths post op

I have been calling my doctor weekly since my 6 week check up about a yucky discharge and constant discomfort. They have been telling me it would get better. Finally I demanded he see me on Tuesday. He says I have granular tissue that needs to be repaired. He scraped and cauterized it on Tuesday and said he needs to do it again twice. Is this normal. Today I am twice as uncomfortable and bleeding again. He also had the nerve to tell me things wouldn't hurt so bad if I wasn't so tense. I am at the point of looking for a new doctor for a second opinion. Husband is about to pull his hair out and is really tired of my complaining. Help, will this get better or do I need another opinion.

Granular tissue 3mths post op

Hi

I'm sorry you are having problems with granulation. I had a lot of problems with it myself! It isn't anything you or your doctor have done wrong. Some women get it, others don't.

It took a lot of treatments with silver nitrate plus a minor surgical procedure to finally cure the granulation I had. While it wasn't comfortable, it wasn't terrible and eventually with treatment it will go away and not come back.

Here's a link to an article you can read for a better understanding about granulation tissue.

Hang in there! Better days will come for you, too!

Granular tissue 3mths post op

Hi kmcneer2001,

I am 5 mos post-op and dealing with the granulation thing right now too. I know how you feel. I have been complaining about the discomfort since my surgery. I asked dr yesterday why she didn't discover this before and she said some times it takes a while before they can see it. I've known all along something didn't feel right. I had my first scraping and silver nitrate treatment yesterday. OUCH!!! Didn't feel too good and hope I don't have to have it too many times. I hope you don't either. I know how you feel about the DH. Men can be real jerks sometimes. They just don't understand. I have one just like him at home. If you want to complain you go right ahead. Your entitled. He'll get over it. I hope everything goes good for you. Keep us informed.
for you!
