period after ovary removal-HELP!!!!!!!!

I really need some help-I had one ovary removed about 6 week ago due to large cyst-I originally went for a d&c because of my heavy periods and that is when my doctor(who is awesome) found the cyst and did that procedure at the same time. I am now having my first period with my one working ovary and my period is just as bad if not worse than when I went in for the d&c. I spoke to my doctor and he said this period might just be heavy because it took 6 weks to get here. I am having lots of cramping(which I NEVER) even hd before and the large clots(sorry to be gross) are the same. Has anyone had this experience? We talked about doing the d&c first before doing anything radical like a hyst. When I had the ovary removal (abdominal incision)- I developed hematomas on my abdominal wall-in which the re-opened the incision to surgically remove those(still having lots of pain from all the scar tissue) and TWO staph infections from these procedures. I am nervous that I went through all this for nothing and will end up with a hyst.

Sorry, this is so long-please help????

PS- Up all night changing myself because bleeding is so bad:(

bernall I am sorry you are having so much trouble. I do not have an answer for you but would recommend if you are bleeding that much to please get into your DR ASAP or go to the emergancy room and get checked. It sounds like you are bleeding more than a normal period. Please get checked soon.
