how long is surgery?

i wasn't required to be there the whole time my husband had his hip replaced, nor was he for my TAH. cell phones, etc, work well. i guess each hospital varies. my surgery took a couple of hours, recovery room for 4 hrs.

Many thanks to all

Thanks so much for all the responses to my question.
Thursday is the big day and just writing it makes me a little jittery but I know everything will be ok.
Thank for my job, it really keeps me very busy. I am constantly trying to create better ideas for my students to understand and retain what they are learning about computer applications. I try to use life application to make it easier. For instance creating outlines. I tell them its like drive a car with manual gears.
To accelerate you step on the gas (tab key). To go backwards/reverse, you hold the swift key (put the gear in reverse) then accelerate (tab). Backspace and Delete is like a windshield wiper.
I love coming up with these ideas and seems to make the light come on.
I'll have time to come with all kinds of ideas and create diagrams that make it easy now.
