Cool - Monday, October 18 Monday, October 18

Good Monday Morning, BEST!

I feel a little funny posting for Monday when it was just Sunday 30 minutes ago....but I can't sleep so I'm on the computer trying to get sleepy!

Monday brings a gym visit, followed by a mammogram & dexa scan (bone density). Then I want to squeeze a little painting in. Doing the living room now. it never ends....

The italian beef was delicious. I don't think it's a terribly unhealthy dish,as beef main dishes go, so I'll tell you how I made it right here.

Sprinkle a packet of Good Seasons Italian Dressing mix over a beef roast and bake it, dry. Add some water toward the end if you like. When it's cooked just a little pinker than you like, remove from oven & cool. Slice it all up as thinly as possible & add a jar of pepperoncini or two to the pan juices. I often add beef bouillon but I didn't have any so I poured in a can of Progresso French Onion soup & it was delicious.
Add the sliced meat back into the liquid & pepper-filled pan & heat through on the stove.
Avoid overheating the meat, it gets tough if you do.

-I have done it all in the crockpot, too, and that is good & easy. Just toss all ingredients in there & walk away til supper time.

There are many good recipes out there but this one is so simple & we really like it. I think now the soup will be a regular ingredient, tonights beefs were really good.

I'm really working on the water consumption, why is that so challenging??? I mean, I even LIKE water!

Hope everyone has a great, OP day!

Ahhhh Monday.... would love to turn right around and go back to bed... just for a little while longer --

So today's OP plan is:

B = soy yogurt & banana
s = apple
L = salad
s = apple cobbler bar from Health Valley (yummy)
D = soup

Today will be another busy day... need to head straight to DH's primary Dr's office after work to get his referral... then he needs to be at the eye Dr at 6 p.m. Since we never know if the Dr will dilate his eyes or not, I go for the ride (just in case). Hopefully the new meds have done their job & his pressure (glaucoma) is down.

So it looks like Curves will be Tues, Thurs & Sat this week with all other appts planned on the other days... (I think... I'll need to check my appt book)...

Yesterday was great... except that DH came food shopping with me... and Fritos made it home. I had such a bad case of munchies... but not too many Fritos. Oh well... could have been worse.

This is my 2nd go this a.m. at posting since the 'puter lost my other post.... so I just have a quick minute to say...

to our new posters....

Here's to putting our BEST foot forward this week!!

Good morning all,

I am not quite as UP (as Xena put it as I was yesterday) today--it's Monday, the reunion is over, and everyone's grumpy. I am here posting early per my new plan, but haven't done my yoga yet or much else. Not in my new morning routine that includes dealing with the woodstove quite yet.

Good news--I was OP yesterday! When I felt the snack cravings, I resorted to my favorite standby--nuts--they cure the hungries in just a bite or two more than anything I know, plus you are getting the good fat with them. I just buy bags of walnuts and pecans and a tin of cashews and carry them back and forth from home to work in my lunch bag. I had just been forgetting to rely on them at home lately ... duh. Well, the duhs have subsided for a moment.

Pondering breakfast as we speak, but soup for lunch and garlic lime chicken for dinner--yum.

I read everyone's posts from yesterday, but no time to respond right this sec. to Mary Kay! Good morning Xena (love that Italian Beef and good luck with the appts today--hope all is well) and Sue (sorry about the lost post and in the "bad" food world--Fritos are pretty good-they are a staple for me and I only eat a few)! Will check back with you all later.

Wow - Xena your up earlier than me

Just caught up on the weekends threads .... WOWSERS you are busy lot !!!

Firstly, If MUSK is lurking today - sending HUGs down the M1 ...

Fran - I've cleared out my PM - sorry !!

Emily - you are going to look a divine angel for the wedding (the bride will have some competition!!!)

Xena - Exercise and Xena in the same sentence .... am I dreaming ?!?!?!? Only joking .... you go girl .. I'm suitably impressed !!!!!!!!!!!

Right OPness is not going good today .. I now I need to get back on the band wagon .. and soon - just struggling ... the pool reopens a week today (YIPEE!) I can get into a proper routine of gym followed by swimming again (I am so looking forward to doing that!) Also they've changed the class time of my Pilates, which means that I'll have DS therefore can't make it .. Haven't got a clue what I am going to do ............. (unless I take DS with me :-( not an ideal prospect - it was my 'one' break from him)

SO next week Mrs Young is going to take stark action - the gym instructors will be 'Shocked'; the pool, as I jump in the water will jump out (I've always wanted to do that!) and I will have to work on my stroke to get faster than DS .... His training is going great .. but after spending an hour in watching him, the amount of sweating I did (I couldn't breathe it was that HOT!) will surely make up for a slight weight loss (I must be dreaming again!)

Right catch all ya girls later

Good morning!

I thought I'd sneak in a quick post before things get any more hectic with eveyone flying around getting ready for various activities this morning. My eyes are barely focused and I've caught a zillion typos already. I don't know if this early posting is such a good plan!

It's dark out so I can't tell if it will be a good day to be outside or not. I need to walk and I need to get the porch swept. I can sweep the porch in any weather so that's not really a problem. I'd like to finish putting up some fall decorations today.

Food is OP so far as I haven't eaten anything. Off to a good start! I think breakfast will be oatmeal and rice milk, probably tuna and an apple for lunch and dinner will be on the run. DD has possibly her last soccer game of the season tonight. Yay!

Xena, I will have to try the Italian beef. It sounds simple (always important to me!) and it sounds tasty!

Sue, I'll be thinking of you and your DH as you go this morning. I hope all checks out well!

Shirley, way to go on turning to nuts for your munchies! That reminds me that I need to stock up on them again. I haven't had any almonds or pistachios in a while but I have had cashews and walnuts.

Toni, enjoy getting back into the swim of things! hehehe

I hope everyone has a super day!

Good morning!!

Yesterday was not quite as relaxing as planned -- I decided I couldn't stand looking out of all the dirty windows anymore (they were a mess from the first hurricane, before we put the boards up -- bits of leaves stuck in the screens and lots of dirt on the outside of the windows) so took all the screens down and washed them as well as the outside of the windows. And I wonder my my shoulders and arms hurt.........haven't tackled the back porch yet (which is ALL windows) but may do that today after I go to the gym. I did get in a couple of hours of relaxing and reading in the yard when I got done with the windows.

Dinner is chicken and rice cooking in the crockpot so I won't have to worry about that later.

Today will be my first step-aerobics class at the new gym. I mean I've done step-aerobics before but not at this gym with these instructors. Had good intentions to make it one day last week but got there too late and the class was packed........no room for me to even put a step down, so I did an elliptical machine and then took a yoga class. But today I am determined to make it there on time!!

Xena ~~ the Italian beef sounds great!! We have a friend who makes it every year on Super Bowl Sunday and it's yummy. I'll be thinking of you today as you go thru bone scan and mammogram....................hope you get good results to both.

Sue ~~ Hope all goes well for your dh at his appt's too.

Hi to Donna, Toni, & Shirley, and all who come along later!!

Gotta run or I'm gonna be late!!

Dear All:

I am officially back at work full time today...ugh. Guess I became pretty spoiled sitting home for 6 weeks because I couldn't get out of bed this morning. By the time I fed all the little feral babies and my indoor babies, took a shower and dressed I was late, late, late. Consequently, this will be a brief post.

Yesterday went well and I stayed OP all day. Today's breakfast was banana Kiwi yogurt. The kind I buy is sweetened with Splenda. I haven't tried it in anything else. Lunch will be a lean cuisine entre, chicken in basil cream sauce. Sounds pretty decadent... I like that! Dinner will be pot roast left overs and veggies or a salad.

Mary Kay. I am new here as well.

Hope everyone has a wopnderful day!

Mary Kay! Thanks for your email.
s and good morning to everyone!

Well, the dress fitting went very well and now the stress of that is gone! I have hit my second goal of 188 and hope to be 185 for the wedding day. This weekend was a bust on all accounts OP wise and exercise wise and even water consumption was down. But today is a Curves day and an OP day and I am drinking my water as I type. My IBS has settled down somewhat but the stress of the last few weeks before the 6th are getting to hubby and I. I just want everything to be perfect and the day to be Say a prayer for us.
Have a great day all and{{{{{ musk}}}}}}.......you hang in there!

Morning gals. I’m a sleepy head this morning. All my plans for a weekend of packing and walking were thrown out of the window with an unexpected trip down to Atlanta. We did do a lot of walking on Saturday, but that was all leisurely stuff. The seafood road show was at one of our local markets so we got some Alaskan King crag legs (DSw had never had these … poor sheltered boy!), and since those were pricey some snow crab legs, as well as sea scallops for a way too yummy, messy n fun dinner. Football food was Pizza (with a salad for me). This was an improvement over our initial thoughts of getting BBQ.

Also received an e-mail from Desk. Her Dad’s surgery went well and his recovery has been going better than they anticipated. They should be back home this week. She sends her hugs to everyone!

On to today! B: plain yogurt with wild blue berries & shredded wheat. (ugh put too much shredded wheat in … can you say GLUE??). Lunch: baked potato topped with salsa & cottage cheese, and a cup of tomato soup. Snacks: carrot sticks, apple. Dinner might be mac n cheese with broccoli stirred in since I have no clue what I’ve got on hand to make!

down 3lbs. The step up in cardio workouts is surely helping that! Heading to the gym tonight after work, for a long cardio workout.

Read the dailies while I was away, but feels like eons ago, so here’s some random Q’s:

Dany: ease up on yourself. You really seem to be focusing on what you aren’t doing, rather than what you are doing well. The negative feelings will just perpetuate so try to spin everything around into a positive.

Xena: hope the appointments go well today, and izzy leaves your house soon!

Ann: You wash windows? Oh girl, you ARE the power babe! (I just move when they get too dirty to see out of).

Welcome Mary Kay! I don’t much care for walking either. I’m from L.A. … and well nobody walks in L.A. hehehehe. Seriously, I do it because ummm uhhhh …. I’ll get back to you on why.

To all: have a BEST day!

Wow Ladies, We're a busy bunch in here this morning already. I've got a million things to do today. DH wanted a "enjoy the fall" day yesterday. But we ended up at a micro brewery in the german town of Frankenmuth, Mi. (we only live about 30 minutes from here), ( www.frankenmuth.com ) and ate here, http://www.frankenmuthbrewery.com/menu.htm We had the Farmers Platter, which by all accounts isn't OP. Oh well.

Welcome Mary Kay.
Hi Xena, Sue, Shirley,Toni, Donna, Ann, Peggy and Emily.
I'll try and post again later. I'm already behind with my day.
