How to get over estrogen dominance crises when trying the natural progesterone???
Hello everyone
As Surferbabe recommended, I had to insist for my obgyn to check my hormones instead of guessing. I asked him to "humour" me and check my progesterone level, DHEA, Cortisol level, and iron. Will find out Friday, have a checkup. But my obgyn only deals with man made synthetic stuff which my body doesn't adapt to very well.
I have a sneaking suspicion my progesterone is so messed up and I have adrenal fatigue.I understand that when adrenals are messed up that it grabs progesterone out of the blood and then I don't have any to off-set the estrogen. even if the level is normal (3 surgeries in one year is enough to tax anyone physically and emotionally) I finally stopped working to let myself rest. I feel a little more energy because of this.
My past history indicates that I have always had high estrogen. No has ever checked my progesterone levels. My ob-gyn just stuck me on synthetic hormones to try and fix it and I can't take those because of the side effects I feel. He doesn't believe in natural things. they are *not as safe*
I intuitively feel that natural progesterone cream is still something I should pursue.
My big question is this: how does one get over this estrogen dominance crises. I read about this several times. women who are so estrogen dominant or have excess estrogen try the natural progesterone and have "reactions" to it. I'm one of them. It takes about a week of steadily applying the cream and putting up with the symptoms then it evens out and goes away. I guess its the estrogen receptors waking up that causes the symptoms. ONe site I read said to use phytoestrogens like soy and take it with the natural progesterone and it off-sets alot of the unpleasant symptoms. Anyone know anything more about this? done it or been through it?
I'm think I'm going to try it if I don't get any more help or answers from my ob-gyn/dr. I seem to have so many excess estrogen symtoms. Soy milk has been the only thing that *helps a little bit* because its blocks my own powerful nasty estrogen.
( I see several of us had to rely on ourselves when you don't get the help you seek) thanks for any input on this subject.
