4 weeks before driving???

I had my TAH on Thursday and just got a really good look at my post-op instructions. It says no driving for 4 weeks. Did everyone else have to wait that long?? I am just hoping that when I go for my post op appointment next week my doctor will lift that one.

4 weeks before driving???

I got behind the wheel at 1 week but didn't start driving daily until 11 days later. Dr told me two weeks but I feel good and incision is healing good too. Just don't drive bumpy, dirt roads.

It's best to follow Dr.'s orders.

4 weeks before driving???

Lots of es have been told they cannot drive for quite a time after surgery. Look at it as to what you can do, not what you cannot do-you can walk a lot, rest, drink fluids, let others do all the rotten things you never liked doing anyhow, and rest a little more!

After the numbness wears off you might not be that excited about driving. I was allowed to drive at one week post op, but I didn't do too much. I waited until about 2 1/2 weeks before I drove very much.

Enjoy your time of letting others help you-it doesn't happen very often!

4 weeks before driving???

My Dr. said 10 days, unless I'm in pain. Well, it's been 3 weeks, and I don't WANT to drive...I can barely walk! I think most of his patients are less than half my age. I'm nearly out of dog food and kitty litter, so I'll have to go out soon...so tired of this!

4 weeks before driving???

My Dr told me no driving until 4 weeks also, so I did as he said even though I was envious of other sister driving earlier , glad I waited , I'm having a good recovery but still find at 5 weeks too much driving makes me a bit sore and swelly , I think it must be the twisting and turning aggravates waist and tummy muscles????
So be patience play the and let others do the running around

4 weeks before driving???

Hi my Dr. said no driving for 4 weeks either. It is really hard! I need a junk food run!! Oh Lord, I am dying for something yummy!

I haven't felt much like going out, but today I went for a walk around the block and I felt so good, I cooked whole grain pancakes (I was a good girl). But then I started straghtening up aroung the house. I even got down on the floor to open up a trunk. (BAAAAD Princess ) I know I will pay for it tomorrow. But my mom was over cleaning for me and I can say in bed while she cleans around me. An trust me there was no way she would give up the oppourtuniy to be let loose in my place!

Oh, anyway, I only have about 2 more weeks before I can drive! And after my Dr's appointment, I am getting a pedicure, then going shopping !!!!!!!!!

4 weeks before driving???

my dr said no driving till I was off narcotics. I have quit pain meds except one at bedtime. db wont let me drive though. Neither will my mom, seems they are a bit overprotective but its probably for my own good because if I could drive I would probably be shopping too!!!

4 weeks before driving???

MY PO instructions said 7-10 days or when of narcs. I was off the narcotics by day 6. I tried driving at day 13 and felt SO bad the next day, I didn't drive again until about 4 weeks. I had SAH plus a full tummy tuck and muscle repair.

It may make a difference in what you drive too. I drive a mini-van, and I was really nervous about driving with the kids when I didn't feel 100% yet.

4 weeks before driving???

At 2+ weeks, my Dr said I could drive, but very short distances.
I have only driven once and that was this past Sunday.
Take it easy, rest and be a good !!!
Was your instructions from the castle or the dr? I got post-op written instructions from my Dr when she discharged me. Then I got more from the nurse before I left the castle. If they were from the castle, check with your dr. If they were from your dr, not much you can do...but be a passenger. My teen had to drive me everywhere. Sometimes not so happily, he hates the grocery store!!!
