What is the difference between estrogen dominance and excess estrogen?

Can someone clear up these terms for me-
estrogen dominance and excess estrogen. Are they two of the same? I'm sure I have one or the other . Me and estrogen just dont get along. I'm sensitive to it.
My estrogen is normal but I'm thinking I don't have any progesterone to oppose it. (I will find out Friday what that level is)
I get the joint aches, muscle pain, weepiness here and there since surgery.

They're not the same. Excess estrogen means too much estrogen, period. Estrogen dominance means too much estrogen relative to progesterone and testosterone.

I'd doubt that you don't have any progesterone... we can make that from dietary cholesterol. Even on no progesterone, some (not all) women have adequate progesterone levels.

When you say your estrogen is normal, what does that mean? Everyone's "normal" is a little different.

The symptoms you listed sound like they could be symptoms of low estrogen.

Hope this helps!

I upped my estrogen level with Estratest FS from Cenestin .9 and felt great for awhile and then I started retaining water bad and the joints in my fingers were aching so bad, it felt like I couldn't bend them. I hear that is from too much estrogen, but the .9 wasn't enough. I'm so confused on what to use.
