LAVH - 2 wks off work long enough?

i am now 6 days post op. of course i overdid it the first few days b/c as soon as i started feeling good i went nutso. so yesterday and today, really laid low. my dr says if i want i can go back to work (secretary) after 2 weeks off. i'm kind of worried, that will not be enough. any similar experiences??? every little thing tires me out!!! and off on a tangent, my dh wants to know just how much what they took out (everything) weighs. good trivia question!

I had a LAVH and I am out of work for almost four weeks, going back three days shy just because it is the first day of the new pay period. I will still be on light duty for a couple of weeks. I work at the airport and ok if at the gates but if I am down in baggage that is bad, can't be lifting those huge cases that people overpack.

I don't know about you, but I could not have gone back to work after 2 weeks if I had a gun to my head. I have a desk job. I did not start feeling really better until 5 weeks. I had some extra stitches due to prolapse of something and once those came out I felt much better. I also had some scar tissue in there. I don't know if that made a lot of difference. I would ask, why rush it? If you have the financial means to take your whole 6-8 weeks, do it.
As I have read on this site so many times, you only have one time to heal correctly.
