Need help with Hormone Levels

I need help please. I had my ovaries removed in 2002. My hormones were doing just fine til I had surgery this past April for adhesions and my colon. I had hot flashes, my hair is falling out, mood swings, can't sleep, etc.... My gyn changed my patch from .1 to .1 AND .5. After a few weeks, I felt really bad. I called them and they had me come in to run blood work. They changed me to every 3 days while they were waiting for the results of my blood work. I felt GREAT!!!!!! My estridial level came back to be 284. They've said something about needing it to be around 100. I'm now back to doing what I was doing before he increased my patch dosage and guess what.... I'm back with the hot flashes, etc.... I called them today to see what to do. The only thing they suggested was for me to change my patch on mon and thurs instead of mon and fridays. What should I do? I love my gyn and his nurse but I'm going crazy!!!!! Has anyone else been in this boat before?????

Need help with Hormone Levels

Hi Della,

I'm not sure what to suggest for you. My doctor did say my estrogen level should be around 100 also.

Hot flashes can be attributed to low estrogen and/or low progesterone.

Here is a list of possibly symptoms.

Too much/Too little

Wish I could be of more help.
