Itching skin around incision site anyone?

It's been 2 weeks since my surgery and the itching around the site is unbelieveable! it's so embarassing to have to scratch. Although I try not to. I keep applying lotion to no avail. Anybody else scatching?

Itching skin around incision site anyone?

I had three c-sections and let me tell ya they all itched like crazyyyyyyy! Part of it is if you were shaved the hair growing back itchs. The rest well everyone may be different but my last c-section was 11 yrs ago and my scar still gets itcy sometimes (not often, it won't always itch like mad) Its really normal, something about nerve endings and stuff.
Sorry no advice about how to make it stop. It will get less with time.

Roz, Scratch, scratch, scratch continuously. It's part of the healing process but very annoying. I still have some steri-strips on (2 wks out) and they seem to add to it so I peeled some off. When I need to go to sleep and it's driving me crazy I do take some Benadryl to relieve the itching. Works and makes you sleep too. Val

The itching is part of the healing process. But when i had my laperoscopy back in Oct. my belly button itched like crazy, i reall did'nt think much of it then i checked it out and I had these bumps around it it was a reactin to the tape they used. The DR. told me to us hydrocordizone cream 1% and it did help, benadryl also helps. Hope this helps!

I had my TAH/BSO almost six months ago, and sometimes my incision still itches. As a matter of fact, it itched today. Not exactly a good place to scratch in public. To give you all hope, the itching does decrease.
