Climara anyone?

Hi ladies, I'am 6 days post op. Feeling pretty good, needing very little to no pain meds. My question is -I left the Caslte with a Climara patch- Is anyone on Climara, and if so, do you like it? Any side effects? etc...Any reply would be helpful. Thanks to all.

Climara anyone?

I am 3 weeks 5 days post-op. My Dr put a Climara patch on me in the O.R. 0.1 mg per day dosage. I change it every week. I am also on Estratest. 1 pill a day. From what I understand..I'll be off the patch and doing a Femring, once I'm allowed to insert in Vagina. But..so far I have no complaints with the patch and pill. One of my DH biggest concerns with my hysterectomy was mood swings. So far..I haven't had any problems. I've been in a great mood throughout my recovery. Mona

Climara anyone?

I'm on the Climara patch 0.1 mg along with Estropipate 1.5 mg twice a day. I have problems absorbing estrogen - of any kind. The patch works much better since I started putting it on my upper buttocks and not my stomach. I don't seem to have any side effects. My only complaint is that I can no longer take a long hot bubble bath or the patch will fall off. I have to save my bubble bath until the day I usually change my patch.

Climara anyone?

My doc put me on Climara the day after my surgery. I am not to the point to where I can say it is going to work for me. I have been more emotional than ever. I find giving myself time outs when I feel my emotions rise to the surface to be helpful for now. He wants me to try it for four weeks before we try anything else. Hope I can make it that long!

Climara anyone?

I've been on Climara since surgery which was four months ago. No complaints and no plans at the moment to stop. I see my doc in January and we'll discuss continuing.

Climara anyone?

I used Climara patches in the past, but recently switched to the Vivelle dot (0.1 mg.). In general, I think the patch is a better alternative for me (than pills), since the estrogen goes into the bloodstream and bypasses the liver -- or at least that's what I heard.

I didn't have any serious problems with the Climara patch, except that: 1)it made my skin itch, under the patch, and 2) the effects of it seemed to decline as I went through the week and I experienced side effects (e.g. sleep problems and urinary urgency). Because of this, I switched to Vivelle. I think it is essentially the same thing, but with a different type of adhesive. Also, it has to be changed TWICE per week, rather than once. At first, I disliked the inconvenience of that, but feel like it's giving me a more constant dose and it doesn't make me itch! Just my two cents worth. Right now, I'm not using any HRT besides the Vivelle, though that may change in the future.

Yes

Was put on .05 day after surgery...I've since tried .10 and .075...both too strong for me. I am considering trying .025 in a few weeks...

It DOES take a while to adjust "your" dosage...

Climara anyone?

I am a month post-op. Climera patch the day after surgery. Doing okay with healing but it's been a bit of a roller-coaster. I discovered it wasn't adhering well and tried sticking back down with a hair dryer and pressure. It restuck. But I notice I have a bad day emotionally now and then and I think the adhesive isn't working well for me; I may need a bit more estrogen because have moodiness especially the day before changing to new patch; .1 mg, weekly patch; having a few skin symptoms I will watch to see if they get better (a little itching sometimes and tenderness). Good luck to you.
