You too? Have ovaries, but hot/cold/hot/cold?
I'm three weeks out and trying to get back to life but I'm faced with hot/chills at all times. Its driving me crazy. I thought since I was actually ill for awhile that was the cause...but now that those problems seem to be getting under control I realize it may be hormonal. Is it something worth brining up with the gyn or should I try something over the counter for a bit to see if there is a difference?
I wonder if taking anything will actually delay/create problems if, indeed, my ovaries are a bit "sleepy". If anyone went through this or is going through this, please offer what advice you have.
I've begun walking slowly for up to 30 minutes on my treadmill. Granted, I walk at nearly a crawl, but I can't help but think that if I get my blood pumping a bit through my body it will help sweep out those stubborn brain cobwebs. Yesterday I was in a fog nearly all day and that, too, is terribly annoying. After walking, it cleared up greatly. Is this "fogginess" also a sign of hormonal lagging?
Please let me know what you guys know about the hormonal issue....many thanks, Jackie

I sure hope someone out there has some answers because I've got the foggies, too.
I almost backed into someone walking behind my car yesterday morning!
Brought my butt home and stayed inside the rest of the day, believe that.
I get night sweats really bad. Wake up with my hair drenched and hot as all get out. I've been sleeping with my window open and the ceiling fan on every night, but still wake up in sweat.
I've still got my ovaries, too.
I also have my two week appt. with the doc tomorrow, so need to make a list of questions/concerns for him. (Should have been keeping a list from the start).

I had the same problems the first 2 weeks or so. hot then cold, then freezing, then hot again.
Now I just feel very irritable, *****y, etc.
My dr. says I dont need hormones but Im beginning to wonder. Im driving everybody crazy.
Is there something we can get OTC without a dr. that will help?

Hi Ladies
For the first 4 weeks post-op, I too suffered with being hot and cold intermittently. I would be freezing most of the time, but at night I had horrible sweats.
It does get better, and your temperature should regulate itself in time. Remember, your poor body has been through a big trauma.
Much love

Same here
and the moods! Oh man I am going crazy. I was always freezing now I get hot and itchy and oh so %itchy. Doc had said ovaries go into a state of shock and once they reawake things should be ok. I wonder what happens if they don't spring back to life?

So are we just supposed to wait this out? I might end up strangling somebody before then considering the fact that I am home taking care of 4 kids and trying to work at home at the same time.
UGH!!!
