premarin

I have been taking premarin every since I had TAH. (5yrs ago)
The first 4 months I gained 25 lbs. I stuck it out and finally after 2 yrs. I decided to go off the hormones. I weaned off of them slowly, until I was totally hormone free. I lasted 4 weeks without them. The first 2 weeks were fine, then I started getting hot flashes and moodiness. I went back to my Dr. and started taking one 0.625 pill every other day. It got better and I have been doing it ever since (one and half years).
I also am taking estroven its OTC black cosh and soy together. It seems to help.
I have recently been getting more hot flashes and night sweats. So I started taking 1 a day last week. I have already gained 5 lbs. since I started a week ago. I do not like this problem as you can imagine.
I am wondering if there is something different out there that wouldn't give me the weight gain.
Ive lost 35 lbs and don't want to gain it back because of these little pills.
Any help would be appreciated.

You have lots of different options for hormone replacement! I can't guarantee that you won't gain weight, but if you find the hormone that's right for you and you feel balanced, I think your weight may stabilize.
