Any Nov. 1 Princesses out there?

Hello! Got home from the hospital yesterday evening after Nov. 1 TAH. My surgeon was very pleased--said it went textbook perfect! An added blessing was waking up in the recovery room and hearing, "Hi, Aunt Susan"--and seeing my niece's smiling face. She's a nurse, and I didn't even know she was working PACU.

So far, just feeling sore and tired. Hard to believe that the long-awaited surgery is over and the nasty enlarged uterus and multiple fibroids are gone, gone, gone. The largest was tennis-ball sized, pressing against my back. No wonder things felt crowded.

Anyone else experience irrational crying? I still have ovaries, but find myself very weepy.

In my first week of recovery

Hi Susan, Glad to hear that everything went well. I had a TAH/BSO & I can't relate to crying. But it makes me very glad to hear you are doing well. I'm 14 days post op and feel very good at this point. I wish you the best.

In my first week of recovery

Susan---
Congrads on doing so well. As far as the crying goes, even though you still have your ovaries, they have been through a "trauma" of sorts from surgery and will go into a "shock". Once they start working fully again, I am sure you will feel better. Of course, I still had crying spells because of no more babies. Even though my husband was fixed and we couldn't have anymore, it was the fact that "I" couldn't have anymore even if I wanted to. Does that make sense?
Everyone responds differently, so don't get worried about it. I have met sisters who were very happy afterwards. It is an individual thing.

Sounds like you are doing great otherwise---keep up the good work!!!
