Feel horrible

I am coming up to my 3 week post op date and I feel horrid. I have a really sore throat and a slight fever. My doctor thinks I probably picked up a virus but he wants me to try and tough it out. He said it was quite common for women to get sick after major surgery because we are vulnerable right now. I was feeling so good and now this. Anyone else experience this?

Sheila

Oh ,you poor thing to get sick during your recovery. I didn't get sick , but I did get yeast infection and other problems after surgery.

Well, get some rest, and .

I hope you feel better soon.

Feel horrible

It's been a year since my surgery, but I remember how totally awful I felt. I mean AWFUL!! It hurt to cry, it hurt to sit, lie down, stand up everything. I was weak, feverish, achy, etc.
I think you're "normal" as your doctor says. STAY IN BED!! It gets better, I promise!

Yuppers I got get this Hand foot and mouth virus after I got out. My doc said and he laughed only 4 year olds get this... I said hey I am young at heart. He said it was because my immune system was down and I was around my DD preschool class... Lucky me. Course Hubby got it too...

Sheila, I hope you are feeling better. Get plenty of rest, and let others treat you like a princess. Use your energy to focus on staying in bed and taking care of yourself. Praying for you. Carol

Yes yes yes, please stay in and down. It's worth it down the road....really!! I had to sleep in the recliner as when I'd put my head down my throat would tickle...ARGH!! I don't remember it lasting long.....but drink, rest, you've heard the drill!!!

Here's wishing you a much better few days!

Feel horrible

I'm almost two weeks post-op (TVH) and yesterday I felt a sore throat coming on. I took extra vitamin C and echinacia and drank more fluids. My throat feels better but I am more tired than I had been before, so I think I had a cold. The consolation is that at least I'm home and able to rest, and I don't have to be running around doing all the things I usually have to do even when I have a cold and feel crummy. So my advice is, do what you usually do want to do when you're sick, and it will be what you are supposed to do when you're recovering from surgery! Sleep and relax!
