Hi BESTers
It was only yesterday that I posted.....oops that was this past Monday. Where oh where did the week go? Things have been so very hectic around here.
The weatherman promised a lovely weekend here on the East Coast - he better come thru or else.
Went back to work this week, in the middle of doing my other temp. job with the township. Got all cought up with paperwork for the HCP and lucky for me they hired someone last night at the meeting. Thank goodness I can give up this job again. Believe me when I say they don't pay me enough (I volunteered, so no pay).
Food has not been good most of the week. I have eaten all the wrong things. Not gotten in enough water, and no excerise. What can I say? I'll simply do better! Yep, doing better is the thing to do.
BTW - Tamarra, I know how you feel. I lost my 1st patient in the 10 yrs I've been in nursing last year on my shift. Even though she was a DNR it was still hard. She lived a long and wonderful life and was glad to go be with her DH.
Well I'm off to bed before the girls across the big pond get up!
Here's to a better, healthy eating weekend. Hugs to each and every one of you.
Melissa

Hi all
Well I spent $700 dollars on ski equipment last night. New skis for me ( that is my Christmas present) so they were the most expensive and should last for years. New skis for my oldest who is growing like a weed. Used boots and goggles for both girls. So we are all set to go. Just need to sell the little ones old equipment and the oldests boots. Also we need to get the skis in for tuning. All in all we should be ready to ski when the snow flies. My new skis should be a lot easier to ski on short and the new style. I am good skier ( I know bragging ) but have such bad knees that I need all the help I can get. I have been working alot on the bike in the gym trying to strengthen my calves and quads for ski season. I think with that and the new skis it should really really help.
Well today I got up and have a load of laundry in and have started to tidy up. Both girls have big days so they have to help clean this house or they wont like what happens. Since I am the Queen of Follow through I am betting the house sparkles by 1 pm.
I am heading to a tupperware warehouse sale at 9 am. So hoping to get some good deals. It is for the Breast Cancer walk.
Weather looks nice. I need to rake some leaves YIKES.
Okay with the Almond flour. I got it at the Bulk Barn. It is just plain ground up almonds. Very expensive but for lowcarb and gluten free people it is worth every penny.
Thanks Ann for moving that I have no idea where the recipe board is so I will follow your link
Dany sorry you are having such a tough time right now. When it rains it pours.
Melissa sounds like the pay was bad lol lol. Glad they found someone to do it. Sorry you have had such a bad week eating wise. I know we have all been there.
Okay I am off

Good Morning Everyone! It's beautiful here today too, but cool. No Curves today (I'm trying to stay with the M-W-F approach for now and see how that goes, but I'd love to do it aerobically on T-T's). I'll walk later, probably with DH. Just ordered Chevy a Lands End Squall jacket for the winter. His old sweater has seen better days, plus this one will be water resistant. Good for drizzly days.
I had a huge MO moment last night. I took a firearms class with DH. We've been shooting in the class now for two weeks, and last night I passed. I was so nervous, but today I'm exilerated over it. The guys shook my hand and told me I did a really good job. Didn't really know if I could pull it off or not. 14 people and only 2 women. (We both passed )
Well, off to get busy here. I've got lots to do and we're meeting friends for an early dinner. OPness will be by motto tonight.
I'm back to my willpower and I'm not going to toss it out.
 to everyone!

Hi gals --
Here's a link to the Recipes forum:
http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/for...s=&forumid=115
And if you scroll down on that page you'll see Hysteritaville Healthwise............for posting our low carb, low fat, or otherwise diet healthy recipes.
Katie ~~ I am wondering, for those of us not doing lowcarb, do you think the almond cookie recipe would work with regular all-purpose flour, and what the proportions would be vs. almond flour?
Enjoy your new skis! And the tupperware sale -- that sounds neat.
Nancy ~~ congrats on passing the firearms class!
extra 's to Dany --
I'm gone again!

Well, good afternoon ladies!
I was just walking past the unoccupied computer with a pile of rubbish for the bin, and I thought 'Hello! I will say hello to my dear friends in histersisteraville!'
The computer is like gold dust to me on a weekend! I did a quick lurk on here yesterday, until DH kicked me off before I had time to post:cry:
Well, yesterday was OP and today is too (so far so good)
Had granary bread toasted and real butter for breakfast, had chicken and mushroom pie, a few chips and peas for lunch, having ready cooked chicken, nice bread and a bit of salad for tea.
Been to the hairdressers this morning, had my hair highlighted and cut. Told her to be bold with the foils, as my mallen streak is getting wider
Spent a lovely hour in a few shops, buying myself lots of lovely new makeup, and a vanity case to put them in (that locks!teehee!)
Anyway, gotta and pick up my DsD, and go with DH to pick up my car, it had a flat battery on thurs, and I daren't leave it any longer, or someone might break into it.
hope you are all safe and well, and happy and OP.
PS Anyone got a recipe for veggie soup? that isnt complicated or full of ingredients (other than veggies, lol)

Morning Gals! Bright Sunny day here, but brrrr. Really nice fall day indeed. It's good to be back to OP eating and going to the gym. Will step on the scale next week to see how I've done. Heading out in a bit to run a couple of errands, then it's a day of unpacking and running to the trash compactor for me.
Ann: When I saw katies recipe I immediately thought it looked like my almond shortbread cookie recipe ... which at the moment is in a box somewhere else I'd share it with you.
Nancy: congrats on passing the firearms course!
Fran: there's probably a veggie soup recipe in that recipe link Ann put up. I'm thinking the WeightWatchers Veggie Soup one is pretty simple.
Katie: Looking forward to hearing about your family spending the day on the slopes. Such a great and fun way for some exercise!
Tamara: hugs going out to you. Regardless of our relationship to a person, when they are suddenly gone it always leaves a void in our lives.
Melissa: time to get you back OP! Though I imagine returning to work is enough to throw anyone's plans off kilter.
Right. need to go. I'm sitting in front of a big picture window and my ahnds are cold. Have a BEST day gals! Think of me each time you walk past a cardboard box.
BSQ
OMG .. to day is wedding day isn't it? Emily, hope your DDs big day is as wonderful as you all have dreamed about!

Hi BEST ladies!
It's but cold today. DH and I will probably walk together later. He's out running errands again. I have a sore throat so I'm staying close to home. No time to be sick!
Food is so-so. I need to find back the willpower. Nancy, did you take mine?
Special thoughts going out to (((Emily))) for the wedding day. I hope it's as beautiful a day there as it is here. I'm sure the wedding will be wonderful. We demand pictures!
Hugs to Tamara. I'm sure it's hard to lose any patient.
Hugs to Dany. I'm hoping life settles down for you now.
Fran, you got in a lot of nice pampering time. Good for you!
BSQ, I still have boxes from our move just over two years ago. I'll head down to the basement and think about you and your move.
Katie, I hope you get plenty of snow where you are. In fact, you can have any we get here! Would it be okay to send it by the truckful?
Melissa, I've noticed that time is going by too fast as well. What's up with that?!
Ann, enjoy your day! You always seem to have it all planned out. Hmmmm, I might try that sometime!
Congrats on passing your firearms class, Nancy! What a neat accomplishment!
I need a refill on my green tea. So soothing for my throat.

~Donna

hi BEST s... Yes, it's me, two days in a row
Today was another hectic bay, but great hectic: this morning, I attended a session lead by a researcher at Ottawa U and the object of her research is the effect on working mothers of having more or one child with ADHD. We were only working mothers of such children (including the researcher) and it was awesome what we came up with: people are, finally, listening!!! And the researcher has been very surprised with the result of her research... and she's keeping those of us who participated in the survey informed as far as the results are concerned!!! This is simply awesome and I'm still on a high from that meeting.
Of course, this meant leaving before I had a chance to eat, then feeding on bagels and donuts.. and it's now always 6 pm and I'm not hungry for supper
I did walk from the campus to the local mall and then to the bus stop, so I, at least, got some exercise in.
I'm still very decided that Monday is the day that I head back both to Mincavi and PACE... and I'm really looking forward to both. BTW, the company is now trying to put together groups in Florida, where lots of canadians live all Winter... and where some canadians emigrate. If that takes life, I'll post about it: it's a great plan.. and it's been revised, so I can't wait to see what the new plans will look like. Maybe, finally, Peanut Butter will be allowed (I don't even care for the stuff that much, but it's a recurring question!!!)
((((Emily)))) I do hope that all is perfect for the big day!!!
((((Melissa)))) Sorry your life is about as hectic as mine!!!

Hey everybody!
Popping in for a quick hello. Made Shirley's Garlic Lime chicken tonight. Actually, I cheat & just mix all the ingredients & pour it over bone-in chicken pieces & bake it in the oven. Tonight I made some chicken & some halibut. Mixed all ingredients except the chicken broth & poured some over the fish. Then added the broth & poured the rest over the chicken.
Baked some white & some sweet potatoes. Dd & I mixed the two together for ourselves, adding a bit of butter & pepper. The others just wanted white ones. Petite peas. It was just delicious. Shirley is my recipe goddess. This family loves that stuff!
For dessert we have some oranges and dark chocolate pieces. Also oatmeal raisin cookies for those who can afford to indulge.
Not this porky piglet, however.
Raked leaves today & all in all have been OP.
I imagine that by now Emily is dancing and visiting and enjoying a wonderful party in celebration of her dear daughter's marriage.
Hope we get to see some pics!!!!
Thinking of you all and sending my BEST wishes for a good weekend. Gotta run, dd is here & I want to see her while I can!
xena
