+ adenocarcinoma - CT scan

Thankyou so much all of you ladies that responded to my original post. All of your support was definately what i needed! I slept very well last night.
I recieved word this morning that my CT scan showed no further spread of my cervical cancer. Therefore, we can proceed with a radical hysterectomy on Nov. 26th. Sounds like i will likely be able to retain my ovaries. But i guess well see when they get in there. personally i wish they d take them no more worries right!? Has anyone else had a radical hyst. and retained the ovaries? My surgery is scheduled with a team of onocol/gynecol surgeons. So im sure they will know what is best.
Thanks again for the responses ill be back asking questions in the post operative recovery!

For now
Waiting for surgery

+ adenocarcinoma - CT scan

Hi there:

I am happy to hear that your CT scan showed no spread of the cervical cancer! I also was diagnosed with cervical adenocarcinoma and had a hyst, but was able to keep my ovaries. My doctor told me they would take a look when they were doing my surgery and if the ovaries looked ok, he would leave them. I was 42 when I had my hysterectomy. If you want to talk some more, please feel free to PM me! Take care!

I do had adenocarcinoma and kept my ovaries. I know what you mean about the worry though. If they don't come up with a good screening test by the time I reach menopause-I want them out.

Hi, I am so glad your CT scan came out well. You are in the best hands having gyn/oncs do your surgery and they certainly will be in the best position to decide what is best for you re the ovaries once they do the surgery. May your surgery go very well and please keep us posted re how you are doing.
