Dermoid cyst question.

Hi ladies,

I still have my vaginal scar tissue. It just won't go away. But now I have a dermoid cyst. If anyone has had a dermoid cyst or knows what discomfort they cause let me know? I have an achy burning feeling in my ovary. I had it last ultrasounded in July. Could this thing be growing and causing discomfort? I refused to get another vaginal ultrasound because of my scar tissue and I don't want the pain from that. Can't they look at this cyst another way. My doc says no.

dermoid cyst

Hello poofy!! I know all about dermoid cysts. I have had 8 of them removed. They do grow and your Dr. is right and internal ultrsound is the best way to view and measure them. They are inside of the ovary. Mine all contained hair, bone and teeth in the mass. Are they planning on doing surgery to remove it and how big is it? Best of luck to you. Feel free to PM me. I had to do alot of research when I first heard the word dermoid. I had no clue what it was.

Dermoid cyst question.

You know the one vaginal ultrasound I had was remarkably comfortable and I have scar tissue issues in my pelvis and have had endo lesions on the outer wall of my vagina.

I expected the ultrasound wand to be fully inserted and was a bit anxious. I don't know if my gyn told his tech (he had a short chat with her before I went in) that I was in pain and to try insert as little as possible, or what ... but, she merely pressed the end of the wand up to the entrance of my vagina and was able to get the images she needed.

It was a slight pressure, but not painful. Hopefully, you can ask for the same? Never know if you don't ask.

I encourage you to have the test. It should be very quick even if it is uncomfortable for you. It only took the tech a minute or so to do it.

Lots of s for you and I am sorry for your pain!!!

Dermoid cyst question.

Hi again,

Thanks for the replys. In June, the cyst was only 1.2 x 0.5 x 1.1 cm. The gyn said that was small.

It's just sore and achy and burning some. I don't know if that's what those cysts do or not. I guess if it was inflamed maybe.
I did read on the internet that they should be removed but only like 2 percent become cancerous. Laparoscopy is the choice of removal. I can't miss any work at present and waiting to here if I have MS right now. Waiting to get the positive diagnosis and not the probably MS diagnosis I have so far. I have to have a spinal tap.

I guess I am going to wait a while longer on the cyst. I will take the advice about the ultrasound though when ready to do it. I just don't want to be sore for days after like I was the first time. I explained to the tech everything I had done and she pushed and prodded and I actually screamed out at one point. It was terrible.

I have so much scar tissue in there. My vaginal walls are like one bumpy mess. I feel a rubbing sensation when I walk. I need plastic surgery of the vagina if there is such a thing. Thanks.
