Feeling GREAT after a TVH
I had my TVH/BSO on Nov. 1st. The first day was really uncomfortable with the drain and catheter, but after all of that was removed, I felt better and better each hour.
I started driving one week after surgery, and really feel good. I never even filled my prescription for pain meds. I do get tired and spend much of the afternoon watching TV, knitting or reading. I can't believe the difference of not having an abdominal incision!! I have been a good patient, and starting drinking my water in the castle and taking short walks around the nurses' station. I was wondering if there are others who have been as fortunate as I, in having a relatively easy recovery?

Feeling GREAT after a TVH
Dear Moto,
I also had a TVH and A&P repair on Friday Nov 5, and have been amazed at how good I feel. Haven't had any pain meds since last Saturday night and I'm getting along well. Just don't want to let my coworkers how good I feel, they may expect me back earlier than I want to be!!

Feeling GREAT after a TVH
I had a TVH too (Nov. 8) and a posterior repair. Most of that seems to be doing very well, but I have a catheter which has to stay in for ten days. It was convenient in the hospital but isn't so nice at home! Last night I didn't use any pain meds though.

Feeling GREAT after a TVH
Hi!
I had a TAH/BSO on October 26th, so I am just a little over two and a half weeks post op. I want to go back to work, but Dr. said NO!
I have not had pain meds since the Sunday after I came home, which would be Halloween. I feel significantly better than I thought I would, but like you still tire a lot easier than I like, so I spend the afternoons knitting... how many scarves can I take to people at work without being labled a "Nut"...
My biggest problem is that because I am feeling better I have a tendency to try to do too much around the house... laundry, cleaned out the fridge and the crispers, cleaned the pantry, rearranged the canned goods... that kind of thing. Then I am TIRED... But all in all, recovery is going great.
My incision is healing wonderfully and does not bother me at all.
The hardest part was the waiting, the uncertainty... recovery is a breeze compared to that!

Feeling GREAT after a TVH
I had a TAH with one ovary removed 3 weeks ago. Felt great from the get-go. Nurses told me to stop walking so much while in the hospital and I practically had to take someone hostage to get them to release me after 2 days. Stopped the pain meds after a week because of constipation, and realized I didn't really have any pain (just took them as a matter of course). Have been walking, etc. since, but refuse to do laundry - - I figure I should get something out of this . My incision hasn't given me any trouble whatsoever, but then I only had paper stitches and dissolvable stitches inside. I go back to work on Monday and my doctor says all is well. Very uneventful recovery. Boredom has been my biggest enemy. My appetite came back after a week as well. I attribute it to having been in good shape prior.

Feeling GREAT after a TVH
Hi Friends,
I'm also having an easy time of it. I had TVH with bladder sling 11/3 and my Gyne said while I was still in the hospital that I was a good patient and she wished all her patients did as well as I was doing.
I came home with a super pubic tube for 3 days until my bladder worked to the Doctor's satisfaction. Removing that was easy too.
I've had to keep myself from running downstairs or running from the parking lot with my kids into somewhere because I feel so good.
I have some "down there"soreness of course but no pain meds necessary.
I've been out and driving since 1 week post-op and people can't tell I had surgery!
I'm glad to hear others were blessed with a smooth recovery too.
Let's make sure we keep it going that way and take care of ourselves despite how well we feel.
Continued God's Blessings,
Debbie
