"Stupid Question" re:" vaginal cuff"

Hi, Ladies..
OK, I know there is no such thing as a stupid question, but I do feel pretty "uninformed", after reading so many people's posts who really seem to know what the heck is going on.
I am really confused about what it is that IS up there now.(I saw those pelvc floor.com pix, and even for me, who loves to watch a good operation, it was a bit to close to home for the time being)

When you refer to "vaginal cuff", does that mean they snip, fold over, and seal? I am relatively certain I have no cervix because I vaguely remember the doc telling me I have no risk of cervical cancer anymore...does it just come to an abrupt end now?

I know I can ask the doc at my 2 week visit on Thurs, but just wondering.I feel almost like a child, thinking in terms of a magical place where organs, etc.float freeliy about in their new more roomy home that is my abdomen. I would LOVE to know how things are arranged up there now, since everything is feeling so different...no more bladder leaks, no more constipation...I need a diagram! Is there such a thing?
Sorry to sound so silly, but am I the only one that feels clueless?
Thanks for all the help you all have given me!(without even knowing it!)

Kath

"Stupid Question" re:" vaginal cuff"

Hiya, Kath!

You're right - there's no such thing as a stupid question!

I asked my Dr what a vaginal cuff was at my six week exam and she said to imagine a tube sock...

Hope this helps.
