It is me, the Hormonal Witch of the West

Hi Sisters,

I am almost three weeks post-op. When I got checked out yesterday because, as some of you know from my post, I have been experiencing major pain. I asked the doctor if we could bump up my estrogen and he said no. I have been so irratable and get so upset very easily. I yelled "Shut up" at my father because he called me a dummy because I couldn't find the phone. And, then he said to me "watch your language". I apologized but he has no right to call me names.

Now I am upset because my computer is messed up and can't be fixed.

I think because I am at my place now, instead of my parent, I will get more rest.

Plus I won't have them to argue with.

Yesterday the nurse told me "no walking"and my mom was there to hear it. I just don't get why people like my dad and others say stuff like "you should go to the gym". Hello are you stupid or were you absent the day God handed out brains?

My tolerance levels have flown out the window, too. Normally, I'm very thick-skinned when it comes to insensitive comments, but I've come to realize normal also flew out the window four weeks ago.

I'm leaving it open just in case normal decides it's time to come back.....well, that and those night sweats were killing me.

Next time he calls you a name (if he does) just tell him it's the company you've been keeping and walk away. He may get it and he may not, but you'll have made a point without being nasty.

I'm sorry you're in pain and sorry too about your computer problems (that's the pits cause you can't take anything to make it better).

Feel better and get your rest.

Hey Anomis,

I gotta tell ya, I understand how you feel Sometimes I just want to grab some of my family and friends, line them up and just I dont understand how someone especially close family can be sooooo darn insensitive. I hope you'll feel better soon so that you can be on your own!!!!!!

Anomis, I am glad you are at your own place now. Your parents sound so totally clueless! Go to the gym? At three weeks post op? I am almost five weeks post op and my doctor told me I could not go to Curves until after six weeks, and even then, to go very very carefully!

Here is a big hug for you... Feel better soon!

Hi Ladies,
The gym at 6 weeks, good luck with that!! 8 weeks and i went and did virtually no heavy exercise and I am so stinkin tired tonite I could cry. And this is after a 3 hour nap today...I havent had a nap since my 6th week....

(((((((((Anomis))))))))) I am so sorry your parents are like that. Mine are too and that is why I got out at 17 and never looked back. My dad is dead now, coming on 10 years. I wish he was around to call me stupid. I miss him so much. Didn't get along with too well with him when he was alive and i wished i had been more understanding. My dad sounds much like your dad....My mom on the other hand is still alive and kickin...Drivin me nuts. They do that, thats why they had kids.... It will work out, and you will do what your doctor said. I would look your dad in the eye, and tell him "My doctor said no walking, when you get your PhD I will take your word over his!" Thatll shut him up, unless he is already a doctor! Then you may not want to use that line....

Take care ladies...
Kat
