Sexual Blues

I haven't been on this list for awhile because I felt I was doing real well hormonally and energy-wise. In fact I think I feel better than I did before surgery. My libido is better but my problem is when I have an orgasm. It hurts like EVERYTHING! I've never had any problems with anything like this pre-surgery and am very frustrated. Its like a sharp, aching pain that almost makes the whole thing not worth it!! I've read about bladder spasms...is that what this is or something else? And WHY? This doesn't feel like the bladder area--it seems more like the clitoris area or somewhere around there...maybe the urethra opening?? I don't know. It's all very frustrating. I haven't discussed it much with my husband as I don't want him to feel inhibited. He knows I've had it the first couple of times but I haven't mentioned it since. I go in for a physical in December sometime and I'll discuss it with my Doctor then but in the meantime....
Any comments or experiences in this area would be appreciated!

Debbie

Dear Debbie

I'm sorry your having this problem. Is there anyway you could speak to a nurse at your Dr's office to see if she has any suggestions for you? I realize you dont see your Dr until next month.I see my Dr on thursday ,as I'm having a similar problem. I'm sorry I dont have an answer for you. Good luck to you and please keep us posted.
God Bless and 's

I'm sorry I'm unable to offer any advice on what the problem could be. However, I would like to suggest you do mention this to your husband again. Keeping your pain a secret just for his sake is not fair to you. If something doesn't feel right, or hurts you, he needs to know about it, and I'm sure he'll be understanding. Good luck.

Thanks for your encouragement. Yes, I think I will call my doctor's nurse today. Hopefully I can get an answer of some kind. Also, last night I DID show my post to my husband after I'd written it. He wasn't too surprised. Can't hide much from him. He's very gentle and understanding, I was just hoping the pain would resolve itself without bringing it up to him again. Guess not. Thanks

Hi Debbie,
I'm having pain too, although not with the "O". (I won't have an "O" until I get rid of the "Ouch".) Anyway, about you... are you on any HRT? If not, I'm wondering if you may need some, at least for the vaginal/urethral area. Even though you might not be overdoing it in the bedroom, I wonder if you might be having irritation to those delicate tissues. I feel like I get the 'honeymoon cystitis' immediately - in addition to sharp & deep, aching pains that I think might be from granulation tissue that the dr. decided to leave alone. Sure isn't any fun.

DH insisted I go get checked out, so going tomorrow. I don't know what's normal and what's not. Did you call your Dr.?

Isn't it all so weird?? I hadn't a clue that this part of my anatomy could be affected! How the heck could a chunk of you being taken out (not even vaginally!) from way above that region cause that bitty part of you to feel so awful? Fortunately that feeling passes almost right away but it sure makes you think twice about trying to reach that big O point! I NEVER had even the remotest feeling like that before. Unlike you by the sounds of it, I don't have any pain though before the O. Everything is fine. SO strange. You'll have to tell me what your doctor says. I had to run all over town today so didn't get a chance to call mine.
Yes, the doctor put me on Climera before I even woke up after surgery. I've felt fine on it.

Debbie
