Pads

I am so sick of weaing pads! I thought I was through with them. I know it won't be long. Everyone is probably different, but I am just curious as to how long we will need to wear the pads?

I tried to go a day without. I just put on some old undies and said to myself, "I am not wearing a pad today!" In a couple hours I had to go change and get the pad.

pads

I'm 3 weeks post op and still wearing them as well and probably will have to until all the sutures are dissolved. I know, it's pretty annoying but hopefully it will get better soon.
Good Luck to you

Me too -- not one pad, even in the hospital! I'm gonna make a big bonfire with all of the old stained panties. Woo-hoo!

me too

I was wondering the same thing. This was one of the things they didn't tell me when discussing the hysterectomey. I'm glad I didn't throw them out. My daughter took all of my tampons, but luckily she left the pads. I am 2 weeks post-op today. It sounds like I will have them around a while longer.

Pads

After surgery I didn't think I would need them either. I am 3 weeks and still wearing them. Had to buy another package today. I am just wondering when it will end with the discharge. Maybe it is just us gals that had a vaginal hyst?

I had a TVH and didn't have any bleeding or discharge afterwards. It varies. Some do...some don't. I feel very lucky.

I hope your discharge stops soon! Hang in there!

Barbie - I had surgery (TAH/BSO) the same day as you, and I am so glad you asked his question. I, too, thought that by now (3rd week) the spotting would be done. I will spot pretty good a few days and then have a very light day and think it is over - the next day I wake up and there is the spotting again. I guess I am wondering how much is normal? Doc said to expect some spotting around wk 3 - this must be what he was talking about? Hope you are feeling well, otherwise!

Pads

I am 5 weeks post-op from a TVH....

I had lots of infections so think I would have more discharge from that ... but I am still using a panty liner now. Think I stopped using the pads at around the 3 week mark.

Surgery was on a Monday

Went home Wednesday not needing pads at all.

Might have been the fact that my Hysto was done vaginally??

Good Luck and hopefully you will be rid of the pads soon.
